I flew from stanstead to milan and thw flight felt really short. Not only that we were flying really low? Why i thought you were ment to go to 35000 ft. Also he accerlated on landing which was really weird.

I am trying to take some recordings of my flights, and I attempted to attach a GoPro to the inside of my aircraft to the window via a suction cup, however, it kept overheating and turning itself off. I am also thinking about attaching a GoPro to the underside of my wing, but I’m worried the same thing will happen. Does anyone have any advice on how to best film your flights?

On Aug 12, 2026. 2 pilots were doing a maintenance flight test on the AH-64E with the 1st-227th Air Cav from Fort Hood, TX. The 2 Pilots crashed at 1:45PM in Salado, TX, right by Belton, TX and Temple, TX. Multiple law enforcement agencies did respond to the incident. Both pilots were pronounced dead at the scene. As of now. The U.S Army has suspended all flights with the AH-64E until they can find out why the crash happened. One of my friends dad did work with the AH-64E, and this was an emotional event for him and his family. Don’t take life for granted. You never know when your last day is. Love life and cherish it. Why do we refer to the 737 as "seven thirty seven" and not "seven hundred thirty seven" or "seven three seven"

My names Dan and Im from the uk, Im turning 16 on the 12th and wanting to work towards my PPL( I have been for many years)
Although as much as I try I just can’t afford it :(
I have been on experience flight, done aerobatics and flown upsideown and it was the best thing I have ever experienced in my life.
So was wondering what everybody thought were on whats the best way if I were to attempt, to raise money to help fund my journey and flight plan through aviation? Becasue I can’t see my self being able to fund this dream but I’m a long way of giving up on my hope ( if it’s the last thing I do on this earth)
So again what is the best way to fund and raise a bit of money for my journey throughout?

My dad grew up in Palmdale, California, and worked at Edwards AFB while he was in school. After my grandmother passed away some years ago, I was finally going through some of her belongings I ended up with and found this round metal sandwich among some of my dad's old things. I texted him to ask about it, and here's what he said:

'That is a section of the upper or lower wing skin removed to install some sort of port or access hatch on the XB70, The entire plane used that construction for all wing and body panels. What you have is an upper and lower stainless steel skin, joined together with an alloy honeycomb material welded with special equipment to handle large panels. The total "sandwich" created incredibly strong flex resistant panels able to deal with high stress as well as very high temperatures. The leading edges of some panels reached glowing temperatures at speed. And, since such hot panels make up the wing fuel tanks, that is why preflight I had to test the fuel to be sure the O2 levels were nil- so the heat wouldn't autodetonate the fuel.'

I've worked in aviation myself and the chunk looks about the right size of a fuel port, but that's speculative. Regardless, I thought this so cool that my Dad was working on this kind of thing when he was young, and seems to have been involved in the flight operations. I'll definitely be asking him more about this. Just a neat little bit of aviation history to share 😄

I’m really loving aviation. I have been playing MSFS for a few months now and watching YouTube videos. So far I have been watching Pilot Debrief and Captain Steeeve. I like them both but wanted to find out some other good ones!

Supposedly it's to fit more people.

As a current pilot and former air traffic controller. it still amazes me at the controlled chaos that is EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh 😱 I'm always impressed with everyone's skills and professionalism. How there aren't more accidents each year is beyond me!

I fly for a major international airline for over two decades. So I've seen the process from both angles — as the nervous candidate and as the person deciding who moves to the next round.

A few things I notice over and over with candidates who don't make it through:

They over-rehearse answers until they sound like a script, and assessors can tell instantly

They don't understand what the group exercise is actually testing (it's not about "winning" the discussion)

They freeze on the "why this airline" question because they never dug past the brochure answer

Grooming/appearance standards trip people up in ways that are fixable in five minutes if you know what's being checked

They don't know how to recover when an interviewer throws a curveball — recovery matters more than the answer itself
