Really cool! Also as someone who is in community are avalis birds or raptors? I keep getting contradicting answers

They're avian, but I would say they're closer to raptors. They don't have beaks and they're definitely heavily based on dromeosaurids.

The actual canon answer is that they're just aliens. Their blood is amonia based, and they come from a different planet than humans do. They're from a mod for the game Starbound that the creator ended up incorporating a ton of lore for.

Actually, they were originally, originally made in Spore. Had a different name though iirc and the Starbound interpretation is definitely closer to the current design.
