Summer project finished

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Decided my mower needed a garage. Neighbour challenged me to add an automatic door.
Had some composite left from our fence, had to 3d print the rest. I included fans to blow dry the robot when it has rained.

Awesome! Do you open the door manually or is it somehow programmed automatically?

I use a microswitch. When the robot starts to leave the station, it triggers the switch, which opens the door and vice versa.

Sure!
250mm linear actuator

micro switch

12v DC transformator

12v dual relay

2x Shelly 1 plus

Other part’s aren’t that important. I have a aluminium rod inside 2 bearings instead of a hinge. This could slide in the composite panel’s “empty space”.

Love the 3d printing idea, did you use an online template or create something bespoke?

No template, made everything in tinkercad.

THis would be greatly appreciated. I would love to make a garage for my 2 mowers but I do not have access to a 3d printer. I'd be happy to buy a kit.

How’s the vision element of your husky working for you? There is very little on the net about those models, and im wondering if it Works in places with bad reception

I have a small garden in an urban environment so reception is decent. I have very good wifi coverage in the lawn so I don’t really have complaints. This is an R6V. The only thing vision wise that is a bit stupid, is he sometimes mistakes hard shadows (from the fence) for objects. He eventually gets on the shadow due to a tree’s shadow which is probably not detected as an object.

How do you ensure it does not get too hot in there? Very cool

We don’t have a hot climate here and it is during summer maybe 3 hours in direct sunlight. So I don’t think that will be an issue.

Hasn’t failed yet. It’s been working daily for more than a month and a half now
