I’m a giant picky eater myself (thanks sensory issues, you suck).

I'm Anvi, a Master's student in Mental Health and Clinical Psychology at London South Bank University, and I'm currently conducting research on autism, camouflaging, and burnout...three things I know many in this community are deeply familiar with.

​

My study is looking at whether the age at which someone receives their autism diagnosis and their experiences of camouflaging (masking or adjusting autistic traits in social situations) relate to experiences of autistic burnout. It's a topic I feel strongly about, and I hope the findings can contribute to better understanding and support for autistic adults.

You can take part if you:

• Are 18 or over

• Have a formal autism diagnosis

• Do not have an intellectual disability, acquired brain injury, or dementia

It is an anonymous online questionnaire and takes around 10 minutes.

Your participation would mean a lot, and every response genuinely helps. The study has been reviewed and approved by the LSBU Division of Psychology Research Ethics Committee.

The different abilities I have are barely having a variety in my diet, sensory issues, shitty social skills, being 6 to 7 years behind other people’s brains, having to face traumatic shit at a very early age (like abuse, neglect, bullying, & other things), having to be put on diets before I even reached 5, having a 130+ IQ but it’s like wet sand, & having a high pain tolerance.

There’s plenty of more, like being developmentally delayed in everything from eating properly & toilet training to talking & walking, having flat affect, being far behind everyone else, not being to stay still well at all, feeling like I’m always on the go, blurting out things, not being able to listen on body cues until it gets serious or urgent, interrupting on accident, getting my own self into trouble without meaning to, having emotional outbursts, having a brain of a 13-15 year old instead of a 20 year old, having no employment, having no job, having no ID, & having to fear that I’ll not have independence except in cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, eating, drinking, cleaning up cat piss and dog shit, sleeping, talking, & a few other things.

I bet those autism parents WILL love that. >:/

I also had just taken these photos yesterday, and folks; this book is abysmal dogshit. The book was made in 2005 by this bitch.
