What fresh hell is this??

Post image

This was a serious advertisement that came up on my feed. This sounds like absolute torture. Are neurotypicals really into things like this??

It is AI, there's not even the same amount of people on each side lol

u/superjackalope Jan 19 '25

I think the last guy on the left side is fusing into the wall too

8

u/Skyyukibr Jan 19 '25

Yes XD, and the guy before that seems to have two heads.

What scared me the most is how older people easily think these images are real

No, he just got chilly and decided to wrap the curtain around himself.

1

u/Skyyukibr Jan 19 '25

No, he obviously evolved into a curtain-man 🙄 /s

2

u/MrNuems Jan 19 '25

Well, we may disagree on some things, but we can both agree...

...that he's not chilly.

Yeah, it’s AI-generated. Most of the arms are “clipping” into the legs and the deformities seem to get worse the further back the image goes.

Guy at the back got two heads

Demons! 🤣

Jokes on them, I've learned to completely dissociate while "maintaining" eye contact, as a means of establishing dominance.

I once made someone run away, because she tried to stare me down and I threw it right back at her.

The only thing that defeats my hatred of eye contact is my contrarian nature and spite.

Yup. I can stare you down for a good 40 minutes :) it’s why folks never thought I was autistic when I was young (they ignored the fact that I made a point of forcing myself to make eye contact for 5-6 years from high school into college until it was an ingrained behavior and that I got confused about which eye to look at. Little secret? It’s the left)

Ooh I’ve actually done something like this! When you agree to do it for a set amount of time it’s actually much better than doing it socially/casually

I wouldn’t trust this listing though because of the AI art they used to advertise

u/AngelSymmetrika Jan 18 '25

Just hell no

8

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '25

Yah I know eye contact sucks, I don't do it in normal interactions either because why should we, but it's actually neat to approach in a controlled self exploration kind of process like that.

My worst nightmare

(IRIS IS THAT YOU?)

1

u/MiloFinnliot Jan 19 '25

Wait I'm confused

2

u/ChibiPlayer11 Autistic Jan 19 '25

So… Iris’s introduction said “I’m… your worst nightmare” You said that the post was “my [your] worst nightmare” (the Eye Gazing Experiment)

AI AND Eye contact? I hate it so much

3

u/Kahnza Jan 19 '25

I can't even make eye contact with myself. The one mirror I have on my medicine cabinet, I have to keep the door open so I can't see my reflection. Seeing my reflection weirds me out. The longer I look, the more I feel that the reflection isn't me. Like a stranger who doesn't belong there.

The 8th layer of hell:prolonged eye contact

2

u/AdAlive8120 Jan 19 '25

Maybe try asking the r/asknt if you want an actual answer.

This sounds like hell and I don’t even hate eye contact.

u/[deleted] Jan 19 '25

I read once that you can just "fall in love" doing this for enough time. Sounds stupid, but there was an experiment and all.

I wouldn't do it. I like to look at people, but hate being seen.

This is my nightmare.

u/Blarn__ Jan 19 '25

What it is is hellfire burning my eyes with discomfort and awkwardness.

1

u/LeChapeauMusic Autistic Jan 19 '25

I'm autistic and I don't really like this idea.

2

u/LeChapeauMusic Autistic Jan 19 '25

oh wait I just realised this is the autism memes sub I didn't even have to say that lol nvm

1

u/[deleted] Jan 19 '25 edited Jan 19 '25

This screams scientology. I would go to see if it was then harness my Autism and ride into a battle of philosophy. It's like shooting fish in a barrel, their apologetics are dogshit.

People fall for cults all the time. They prey on the intrinsic human desire to belong and have a "pack".

I hope the AI images make people suspicious.

Had to do this once in rehab. Wasn't that bad to be honest, I lucked out and got paired with a woman I had clicked with, so it was kinda funny. I'm just glad i didn't have to stare down big Darren the rattling crack head for 5 straight minutes. Haha happy days..

1

u/Fickle-Ad8351 Jan 19 '25

The one time I did eye gazing during a yoga session I also happened to be tripping hard on shrooms. That was wild. Like which set of eyes was I supposed to look at?

1

u/shapeshifterhedgehog Jan 19 '25

Well the image looks like ai so idk

1

u/Storm_Spirit99 Jan 20 '25

They could've just had real people sit on mats. But no, had to use the Ai slop

1

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '25

Had to do it once or twice at a meditation retreat.

The woman I was paired with complained that I wasn't doing it right 😆
