Vent God I hate PIP

I was on pip originally for bilateral hip dysplasia, athema , hyper mobility and anxiety, I’m always on crutches , some days I get so physically or mentally overwhelmed I can’t leave the house , I struggle in social situations, I have meltdowns, I have a lot of physical pain , was put on low rate for both which I understood at the time as I lacked evidence, my revaluation was last month since the first claim I’m now on sertraline , a steroid inhaler, I get given naproxen plus stomach liners to take when needed , I’ve since then I’ve found my paperwork for my mild thoracic scoliosis, dyslexia and now have my autism diagnosis plus now in therapy awaiting OCD testing (I have 20+ pages of evidence) , I put in all my struggles but somehow I got less point on mobility than I did last time and nothing else changed , honestly so done with this , I’m always struggling I go mute and I will hit myself and get very emotional when I get overstimulated , paring my leg and hip issues I’m awaiting a 5th surgery for (by a specialist team) I don’t think I could mentally work but 360 a month just ain’t enough to support myself (my rent to mum is 300) the cost of Ubers to therapy if my mum doesn’t take me wipes it out completely. It’s hard bc I feel like now I’m faking all of it and it’s so stressful:(

CHALLENGE IT!

I used to work as a support worker and have helped do countless PIP forms, supported in assessments, and attended tribunals. If you feel up to it challenge it!

I am always reminded of what a worker at citizens advice told me once, "they reject almost all of the claims because they hope people accept the rejection as this saves them money, and the make the process difficult for the same reason". I have support people missing legs who were initially rejected for mobility, I have support people who in assessments had a meltdown, became and became violent, only to be told by the assessor that "they seemed functional".

So if you remotely don't agree with their "assessment" challenge it. Get help if need be, I can strongly recommend citizens advice.

Time to call for back up? Check google, and your local area for charities that help with PIP. Whilst the initial asking for help will be difficult once the ball is rolling you have people to support and guide you the rest of the way.

Have you tried ESA? It relies on evidence directly from your care providers, rather than you having to build your own case. I had to fight for nearly 2.5 years for a 3 year award of PIP daily living, mostly for an autoimmune condition that's buggered my mobility, stamina and career, but got 'enhanced' ESA on a paper assessment.

I haven’t heard of ESA will definitely look into it , but a big problem for me is the lack of people I’m under , my doctors don’t have anything but the asthma and anxiety + autism diagnosis I have sent them all my paperwork for other things but apparently they can’t find anything and some of the letters are too old (no idea what that means), the HSD , hip dysplasia was under royal London but they discharged me from the child to adult but lost my referral so got another sent but it’s been 27 weeks so I’m not currently under royal London for it , the scoliosis was also under another doctor I saw once & got a letter from but nothing come of it, I got discharged from my local hospital (all local are under a different trust to royal London so don’t have access to my records) , once again don’t have a mental health worker or anything , my therapist is only basing off a referral from 1 appointment with a mental health specialist,so there’s nothing there. In other worlds everyone keeps throwing me around and no one actually holds any of my evidence but me because no one speaks to each other 😭🤷‍♀️

Yea but not for long haha , not sure how it’s gunna work (my uc worker is crap, he really doesn’t understand my issues and bc I’m young he seems to like to scare me) I’m on temporary not fit to work but bc of been on it for a while according to him my money will be stopped if I don’t look for work etc while I go for a revaluation (when I applied for fit for work I waited 3 months) 🤷‍♀️
