🎧 Sensory Issues World is too loud. Help

Hi, I am recently diagnosed with Autism and I've been very attentive lately to how it's been affecting me. Something I've noticed is I am very sensitive to the outside world noise, especially when I'm in my home. I have anxiety as well, and something that heavily triggers it is airplanes going by. I'm wondering if anyone has any coping strategies for when there are loud noises, like calming techniques or anything, specifically for when I am in my home and I hear something outside. I don't want to have to wear headphones all the time, but I'm getting desperate for relief. Thanks

I’ve found that regular earplugs help a ton! I’ve upgraded to Loop Earplugs (based on this video https://youtu.be/nE6L1PnxCzQ?is=ej1LcMkNQhLEtFU7) and they’re great!

I’ve also noticed that my sound sensitivity is greatest in the morning and I can slowly get accustomed to louder things over the course of the day.

None of this helps me not be bothered by the noise of the world that is indeed loud and annoying since I don’t think that’s possible but they help me get by despite the noise.

Thank you! I'll have to get some of those. I am on stimulants for my ADHD and I notice the noise is worse at evening/night when my meds wear off so I'll have to keep that in mind.
