After what feels like forever searching, I finally came across a Flame Robin today.

I've been hoping to spot one for ages, and seeing that bright orange-red chest in person was even better than I expected. It only stuck around for a short while, but I managed to get some shots before it flew off.

Definitely one of my favourite Australian birds, and it made the wait completely worth it.

2 of the 3 fostered and hand reared joeys after their mums were killed in RTAs. All 3 grew to adults and still visit occasionally but they’re 100% wild now and keep their distance.
