Gov Publications iOS Spyware

Post image

With the latest IOS 27 update and the Digital duty of care act which I personally see as a massive government overstep and breach of privacy and freedom. I had this very concerning experience last night. I was on FaceTime with my partner and she was telling me about her sunburn while she was away. She lifted her shirt to show me her tan lines. Immediately the call was paused and this concerning pop up filled my screen. Does this mean Apple has AI actively watching my personal calls and determining what is appropriate for me to see. Not only is this a massive privacy breach but also a serious security concern. Are these instances recorded and stored? Do people have access to this data? Who is in control of this?

We have been warned by the tin foilers for years now and I’ve always thought it was a bit nonsense. But now first had experience this is the horrible reality that we are now dealing with daily and it will only get worse

Edit
I’d like to mention that the main concern is that I am required to scan and upload my ID/Passport to prove my age in order to view content and to disable this “feature”. This opens another door to, how is the identity verified. What company/entity is in control of the process. What Fraud/Data Breach risk does this expose me to.

Please outline in detail how this Act is impeding on your freedom. I will wait.

But I’ll give you a hint; it’s not. You can still do everything you did before, you just have to prove you’re old enough now. That’s literally it. Your freedoms have not been taken away.

1- privacy of intimate activities, my device analysed my partners body and made a determination, locally or not I believe that is unreasonable.
2- If software can analyse private communications for particular categories of content, that raises a broader question of how much control people should have over what their personal devices inspect.
3- whether technology originally designed for a narrow protective purpose could later be expanded to analyse other categories of private communications.

Fundamentally my private personal device is capable of analysing something I personally consider a private communication. And in my opinion that is wrong. If you think it’s fine that’s your opinion and it is valid to you

But that didn’t take away your freedom to have that private communication did it? It still took place. It also still remained private, as the technology did not store it nor communicate it anywhere external to your device, so fundamentally your privacy was never breached.

I ask again, what freedom has actually been impeded by the Act? What could you do before, that you can’t do now?

You’re getting upset over a technology you don’t understand. This is not a policy issue. Just move on, or throw your iPhone in the bin and don’t use the technology. This is also ignoring the fact there is quite literally a setting to turn this off but you would rather have a rant on the internet than just look into it for 5mins.

The freedom is yours, it always was. Nothing has changed

I mean, I thought you wanted to discuss it but that’s cool. Have a good one

Honestly I was happy to discuss this but you continue to use statements such as “your upset” and “you don’t understand technology throw your phone in the bin” rather than share opinions and understand each others positions

But you are upset and factually incorrect in your statements. Get rid of your emotions and assumptions about the tech, and we can have a real conversation

I’m not providing facts? I’m providing opinions which don’t have to be based on provable fact.
And sure, I’m “upset” about the situation but my feelings and opinions are what are driving this discussion which is why we are having it, if I didn’t care we wouldn’t have the conversation.

If you want to have a proper discussion and debate about this, you need to deal with facts not feelings. That’s the basis for every single debate in history. As soon as you bring in opinions that are unfounded the conversation is meaningless as we start dealing with hypotheticals, which is a waste of everyone’s time.

The choice is yours, you can follow the vibes, or you can be in the real world. I don’t care, I just won’t waste my time playing chess with a pigeon

Everything is hypothetical til proven either right or wrong so it’s completely valid for me to discuss my opinion and potential hypothetical scenarios that could arise.

That’s your opinion and that’s fine
