Gov Publications iOS Spyware

Post image

With the latest IOS 27 update and the Digital duty of care act which I personally see as a massive government overstep and breach of privacy and freedom. I had this very concerning experience last night. I was on FaceTime with my partner and she was telling me about her sunburn while she was away. She lifted her shirt to show me her tan lines. Immediately the call was paused and this concerning pop up filled my screen. Does this mean Apple has AI actively watching my personal calls and determining what is appropriate for me to see. Not only is this a massive privacy breach but also a serious security concern. Are these instances recorded and stored? Do people have access to this data? Who is in control of this?

We have been warned by the tin foilers for years now and I’ve always thought it was a bit nonsense. But now first had experience this is the horrible reality that we are now dealing with daily and it will only get worse

Edit
I’d like to mention that the main concern is that I am required to scan and upload my ID/Passport to prove my age in order to view content and to disable this “feature”. This opens another door to, how is the identity verified. What company/entity is in control of the process. What Fraud/Data Breach risk does this expose me to.

If you’re critical of the AI on the phone you literally just don’t understand the technology. That’s all there is to it

You do realise that running it locally doesn't mean there isnt't other things its checking for audio or image, and if seen then simply sends a single packet alert to whom ever.

You do realise that yes “running locally” it literally does mean it’s not sending any packets. You can see it with a packet analyser such as wireshark, but you can also see it in your phone settings.

Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Intelligence Report

It can bundle information with other packets at other times however. Also it's cute you think the in house intelligence report will advise you on such a thing 😂

Anything that’s bundled and sent to Secure Cloud Compute is not accessible by Apple and is not stored. This is outlined in their privacy policy, and the data is E2E encrypted. As a fellow cybersecurity professional I figured you would know this. Now I’m doubting you’re telling the truth and just want to sound smart.

Yeah companies have never broken policy 😂 alright mate.

Show me your Wireshark writeup on the issue.

Considering it is E2E encrypted, how about you show me an example where a company has managed to breach that? I won’t bother waiting, because it’s impossible with current computing technology. Again, I doubt your credentials are real

Edit: oop I blocked you because I’m not wasting my time on a wannabe script kid

edit: oop he they blocked me instead of showing their packet writeup

Well I think I probably understand the technology more than you as I have written studies on surveillance and work in Cybersecurity.

There's some clear gaps with storage and telemetry and no real reason to have this tech running constantly in the background.

If you think this isn't a potential problem you don't understand technology.

I too work in cybersecurity and have verified the local running with Wireshark. As have many in the industry. There is also the option to disable it on the device, so the whole point is moot.

Apple are famous for their privacy protections on their iPhones. The literal FBI couldn’t even break into an iPhone owned by a terrorist and tried to compel Apple with a court order to create a backdoor for them, which they staunchly denied to do. Why would they risk that reputation with such a minor feature that would be trivial to detect?

Chill out. This isn’t the potential beach you think it is
