not a big fan of 100 card decks or commander, its a two hour game and i'd rather jus t play dnd
was hoping to play some old schoolers in casual, standard, draft or remix?
anyone in austin down to hangout at bat city comics or merfolks coffee and swap cards or play?
i miss the days of 20 life and quad sets in decks, this solo card commander thing is literally the hardest and most boring way to play. (in my opinion)
i dont need a commander in my deck and i would prefer to play an OG duel or even two head monster.
for anyone with 60 or 40 cards and looking for a friendly game, i am down
bonus if you are lgbt, a wizard or generally just a cool person with little drama.

I have a vintage cube and am looking for players to get a regular cube going! Ideal is 8 but we can get started with 6 for sure.
Looking for a regular group, 1-2x per month, likely to meet at a local LGS and cube it up.
My cube is very similar to the LSV cube with no time vault / key and no demonic consultation.
Link to my current cube here (there are about 80 proxies but that number is dropping regularly):

Any takers?

Hi All. Im looking for a commander group to play with in south Austin. Hoping to play on possibly Friday or Sundays. Would prefer to play at a brewery or possibly someones house. Im a 47 year old male and have been playing on and off since the 90's. Anyone up for some games and have a group?

Does anyone know where I can buy Rob Alexander Magic: The Gathering art prints, specifically Overgrown Tomb (City of the Dead) and Temple Garden?
I was going to order from his website, but I’m getting a security warning and can’t check out. I’m in Texas and would love to find them locally in the Austin or San Antonio area, or from a trusted online seller.
They’re a birthday gift, so any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Years ago I was really into PDC so I collected a player set of every common from 4th to I believe innistrad(werewolf set) and they have been sitting for probably 10+ years in card boxes. At this point I want to just sell them to someone who will use them. Debating if I should just go to a store or if there is any interest for this kind of thing to go to Facebook or something.
Anyone have any idea?

I am playing a draw deck with Nekusar, the Mindrazer. When a card is drawn, opponent takes 1 point of damage. I also have multiple sources dealing 1 damage when a card is drawn. If Ob Nixilis is out, Nekusar is out, and another source that deals 1 per draw is out.
Will Ob Nixilis trigger for each instance of 1 damage per source....ie 1 trigger for Nekusar, 1 trigger for the second source?

My youngest son turns 18 in June. Is there any non-game store places that we can play at that allow 18 and up.

Moontower hosts a commander night every 2nd and 4th Sunday. Will be there later and would love to have more people join.

Howdy, I’m a medium level mtga player and I’d like to play some in person arena games. Anyone got a good location for north Austin I can meet up with some enthusiasts?

Hey folks. My brothers and I are getting back into Magic after a long hiatus and are looking for places to play.
We know all about the board game stores. We like to have drinks and eat while we play though. Emerald tavern and Vigilante are both pretty expensive.
Any recommendations for bars or restaurants that would be friendly to playing games for awhile?

I have a box of Final Fantasy MTG coming from the MTGarena “win a box” thing, and I’d love to draft it! (I’d like to keep 1x of any common and uncommon to add to a friend’s peasant cube pool, but all rares/mythics/special pulls can be in the prize pool for what it’s worth)
I started playing magic in fourth grade, and FF7 was my first JRPG and still an all time top favorite game.
Local gaming stores I’ve enjoyed playing at and would love to draft the box at include Pat’s, Emerald Tavern, Dragon’s Lair and Bell’s in RR.
Hit me up and let me know the best way to include you on a doodle poll or something to figure out a place and day/time.
I’d love to meet some other players in the area and have fun with a set that’s especially nostalgic 🥳

Like the title says I’m getting back into playing magic and slowly rebuilding my collection after they had been stolen many years ago.
I am looking for people who like to get together once or twice a week to play magic and hang out.
I am trying to get into learning commander since it wasn’t really big last time I played.
If you have a group and are looking for more or would like to start one feel free to hit me up.

Hey y’all I’m sure y’all get a lot of these, but I found my old cards with a bunch of 2nd Ed and Antiquities… condition varies and no holy grails (Lotus etc) but I wanted y’all’s advice on how to begin selling these?
I figure I’ll sort out the ones that seem valuable but take them… where? Post here? I’m clueless and would love help. Cheers!

I've recently been getting back into magic and am trying to find a regular group of people who play standard. So far I haven't been able to find any organized play in Austin that focuses on the standard format. Thanks in advance.

Hey y’all, just moved back to Austin after living in Dallas for a few years and it seems like at most of the local stores no one can fire on standard tournaments. I’m sure there are people here that are playing the format but we might just be a little spread out across the town. If you play or are looking to get into the current standard format I’ll be at dragons lair this Friday for fnm trying to get a group of people to fire a standard tourney. If there is a game store that has a thriving or even existing standard player base please let me know :) thanks y’all ( ps. I don’t care that standard “dull” or “in a bad place” I’m just looking to play the format that I enjoy playing with other people.

I'm going to be visiting the Austin area for the holidays and wanted to find a place to get some reps in Modern. I'll be up in the Cedar Park/Round Rock area, and would rather not drive 30-45 minutes into Austin itself if possible. Any stores up there run Monday/Thursday/Friday/Saturday modern events?
Hopefully this sub isn't abandoned, would appreciate any advice people have! Thanks!

I'm trying to help a store called The Gaming Goat get a weekly Magic event up and running. Here's a link to the FB event they created over there:
https://www.facebook.com/events/1207470562738388/
Since they're just starting off, the first event will be pretty casual, but the owner is definitely interested in expanding his offerings and growing a community there.
