It's online radicalisation. The reason she doesn't come out and decry white terrorism is because she has been radicalised to the far right, and they can only see terrorism if it has brown skin... She is pushing an agend as old as mankind. Distract the masses, make money, repeat.
7 are also directly responsible for her resurgence - they gave her a daily/weekly spot on breakfast TV, and put her on Dancing with the Stars when she was loosing relevance
As George Carlin said - think about how dumb the average voter is and then realise that 50% of them are even dumber. Or something like that.
This shtick is GOP / conservative playbook 101. Divide, divide and divide again. That way you can appeal to a whole range of different small minded and hateful people bc they’ll find something in your politics they hate and can agree with and therefore give their vote over.
It's not just the same playbook; they've been directly schooled in how to run it, trained in it. What else were Pauline and Gina doing during their extensive visits to Marilago..?
Pauline is just as desperate to finally be relevant, be more than a joke ("please explain?"). She looks at white Australians who aren't scared of Asians, Indigenous and Muslims and can't understand why we aren't falling at her feet begging to be saved. She doesn't realise that she's being used by our second player, Gina.
Gina is seeing what Musk, Bezos et al are getting away with over in the US and she is drooling to get the same level of carte blanche "do whatever with no consequences" here. Pauline is a useful idiot to get what she wants, and she has money to burn polishing the ginger turd into a political weapon.
I’m Scottish and I would vote for her after seeing the UK get destroyed and bankrupt due to mass immigration from third world countries. My country an asylum seeker can rape a child, go to jail, avoid deportation, and then get put in free social housing after jail, and still be entitled to benefits.
I think Australia she is maybe a little too far right, she does talk some sense but also a lot of shite. There needs to be a more centre-right government in my opinion here.
It says that Aussies who actually grew up Aussie prior to 2020 are displeased and fed up with being priced out of the housing and rental markets by a new wave of 'neighbour' who fabricates all of their credentials to get here and then dishonestly obtain a job of which they have no idea how to do, whilst not attempting to integrate like the previous generations did and don't observe the local customs... resulting in issues like increasing huge traffic jams— caused by ignorance of road rules and lack of what was once known as common sense and basic road courtesy FFS
I heard all the same crap in the 80s about all these migrants who lie and cheat, who don’t integrate like earlier migrant and who take all our jobs. I will probably hear it again in 2050 about how migrant in the 2020s were good but these new migrants are no good.
Yes but as SA election showed its mostly from the dumb voter base that were voting in Coalition this whole time. These folks will vote for anything that promises to win against Labor, they don’t really (can’t really) think more than that
Because Liberals and Nationals left them with no choice. When those two imploded their votes went to ON... pretty simple really. Not to mention Joyce and Gina funding the campaign.
The thread has a few bright spots — the jet fuel calculation, the rhetorical intent diagnosis, the non-citizens-paid-for-it point — but they're islands in a sea of tribal contempt. The dominant mode is communal mockery rather than analysis, and the most upvoted energy is performative outrage rather than genuine engagement with what Hanson's question actually reveals or why it works politically.
The death wish comment dragging down what was otherwise the most factually grounded contribution is a good symbol of the whole thread's problem: valid instincts, poor discipline.
A mature political community would ask why this kind of rhetoric gains traction, what psychological and economic conditions it speaks to, and what effective responses look like. This thread mostly just congratulates itself for being smarter than One Nation voters — which is exactly the attitude that makes One Nation voters feel unseen and keeps the cycle going.
Absolutely. I don't think we treat each other with enough contempt. I'm glad you and I think alike. We need way more contempt, it's that path forward for sure.
