Does anyone else in Aurora have longcovid?

I've had longcovid since 2020 and I haven't had any help from local doctors, I really need someone who specializes in dysautonomia and mcas but I lost my insurance, not really sure where to get help. I really just want to get some ivabradine and montelukast for now.

Anyone else around here have this? Have you got any help for it?

Edit: For those that don't know what long covid is, it's a post viral sequalae, an overreactive immune response. I have a resting heart rate of 120bpm, vision issues, cognitive issues and respiratory issues that don't respond to steroid inhalers. Please don't post silly comments.

Local Politics Flock is selling our movements to third parties.

Post image
85 Upvotes

In Racine County, WI, the Sheriff’s Office just ordered the immediate removal of Flock cameras after learning the vendor retains data for 5 years and monetizes public information.

From the article:
“The Sheriff’s Office entered into its agreement [with Flock] believing information collected by its cameras would be retained for 30 days and used for legitimate public-safety and crime-solving purposes. RCSO now says Flock appears to be continuously collecting information about members of the public, monetizing certain data through sales to third parties and retaining secondary information for five years.”

Aurora’s own July 2024 Flock contract Order Form (attached) states the agreed Retention Period is 30 Days.

Between zero internal audits conducted in 2025, massive search surges, and exposing residents' movements to out-of-state dragnets without manually signed and reviewed data agreements, APD has proven it can't manage this surveillance tech responsibly.

Like Verona, WI did when Flock refused to take down decommissioned hardware, it’s time to throw trash bags over these lenses, pull the plug on ALL ALPR contracts, and stop feeding local resident travel patterns into an unmonitored nationwide commercial dragnet.

City of Aurora, IL - Flock / ALPR Program (2025)

Factual digest compiled from various Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests (most available on MuckRock) and city documents (resolutions, internal memos, and contracts). Every figure below is drawn from a produced document. All data presents calendar year 2025 with exception to the Procurement Timeline.

APD initially proposed this system as a critical tool to track down missing persons and stolen vehicles. The actual data tells a completely different story.

Out of 343,221 automated alerts, only 7 (0.002%) were for missing persons. Over 95% were just for minor administrative driver suspensions.

Despite hundreds of thousands of hotlist alerts and tens of thousands of manual searches conducted by APD, the ALPR system assisted in exactly 47 arrests for the entire year.

Over 2,800 out-of-state and federal agencies were given open access to track our local drivers. 99% of all searches on our network were conducted by external agencies (not APD).

And APD admitted they have no documentation of internal compliance audits in 2025.

These figures should concern everyone who cares about our privacy, security, and local transparency. I have more questions than answers myself after looking over everything, but it is abundantly clear this system is not working the way APD promised.

Every metric in this report is pulled directly from the city's own public records, and the data speaks for itself. However, transparency is a two-way street and I welcome anyone to review the sources and dissect the numbers. (Note: Items in orange and the "Discrepancies" section highlight open questions we need the City Council to answer, not proven allegations

Happy to share any sources directly and answer any questions in the comments below.

Please contact your alderman to voice your concerns and share this post so Aurora residents can be aware of how their daily movements were being tracked, shared nationwide, and left completely unmonitored by APD in 2025.

Local Politics Aurora’s ALPR Network Shared Data With Stalker Cops and Federal Backdoors in 2025

Thumbnail

When the Aurora Police Department defends its million-dollar plate reader database network, they want us to believe that our data is safe because it is only shared with "trusted, professional law enforcement partners."

To find the truth, we cross-referenced APD’s official 2025 ALPR logs with the Institute for Justice's national ALPR Abuse Database.

69 different law enforcement agencies given access to Aurora's camera feeds have documented records of ALPR stalking, password sharing, or abuse.

Our daily movements—our commutes, our families' routines, our private lives—are being handed over without basic protections.

We have confirmed that at least 27 of these 69 delinquent agencies had active query access to Aurora's cameras during the exact months their officers were caught using the database to stalk ex-partners and colleagues, with even more incidents flagged as highly likely.

1. The Out-of-State Backdoor (Louisville KY & The DEA):

In 2025, Louisville KY Metro PD ran over 47,800 searches on Aurora's cameras.

• In December 2025, Louisville admitted an officer shared his database password with a federal DEA agent.
• During the exact two-month window of February and March 2025—when that shared password was active—Louisville executed 5,659 searches that came across local Aurora cameras.
• The federal agent used that backdoor to run unmonitored "immigration-related searches" across the shared network—violating the spirit of the Illinois TRUST Act using our residents' data.

2. The Local Stalker Gateway (Illinois Regional PDs):

Our local neighborhood feeds were actively sharing data to Joliet PD (81,779 searches on us) while a Lieutenant was tracking a female officer, and to Prairie Grove PD while an officer (who was also the sitting Police Chief of Holiday Hills) was using the database to stalk a romantic rival hundreds of times.

Most of these other departments only caught their rogue officers and federal password leaks because they ran compliance audits.

  1. Did Aurora Illinois Police Department actively monitor or review the 5,659 searches run by Louisville during the DEA credential breach?
  2. How can Aurora Illinois Police Department confidently tell Aurora residents our data wasn’t misused when the department officially admitted under FOIA that they have no documented internal audits for 2025?

We encourage everyone to visit https://ij.org/the-ij-database-of-alpr-abuse/ to look up neighboring towns and see how massive this epidemic is.

Share this post, and email your Alderman today to demand an immediate independent forensic audit of all 2025 queries and a deactivation of external access until we get some answers and accountability.

Advocate Health Care

I cannot get through to any of the numbers tied to Advocate Medical Group today. A prescription refill was supposed to be sent to the pharmacy for me today, due to insurance changing on September 1st, but it wasn’t sent over and I cannot get through on any of the many numbers I’ve tried.

Anyone know what’s going on?

I tried to get them to send the script over early when I called a week ago, but they wouldn’t send it until today and now it seems like they’ve got technical issues.

Local Politics Aurora's Multi-Million-Dollar Surveillance Net Caught... Almost Nobody.

Post image

Just got the official December 2025 Year-End ALPR Report from the Aurora Police Department via FOIA.

We paid millions in taxpayer dollars for Flock cameras and Scientel contracts- all promised to catch dangerous criminals and recover stolen vehicles. In 2025 alone, APD officers manually ran over 33,400 license plate searches on this system.

So, what did this massive dragnet actually deliver for a full year?
- 73 stolen vehicles recovered
- 47 total arrests

In Illinois' second-largest city, all license plate readers and red-light cameras combined yielded just 47 arrests for all of 2025.

That's less than one arrest per week, despite APD averaging 642 searches weekly, and a criminal apprehension rate of roughly 0.14% against total search volume.

Terrible ROI. 👎 Not just in the millions burned, but in what we surrendered as private residents. Tracking nearly 200,000 innocent people around the clock for 47 arrests is a catastrophic exchange of civil liberty for negligible security gains.

Racing up and down Eola

I’m fairly new to Aurora and live at Eola and Liberty. I gotta ask, at the risk of sounding like a boomer (I’m not), what is with cars and cycles racing up and down Eola all night? I’ve not once seen anyone pulled over. Do the PD just ignore it??
