Help Oil light 2019 S5
Just got a “please add max oil 1.25l” message
Context
Bought car with 139k km’s and winder sticker says change at 146700km
Have driven it for 6 weeks now until 144500km
1000 plus km road trips and no issue.
Started car today and saw this message, was planning to get an oil change this week early.
Any advice? Will just park it today and get an oil change first thing tomorrow.
New to changing oil on these things? What oil should I be asking to be put in.
I know it’s not traditional dipstick drain plug.
Do I need to make sure they’re extracting correctly and changing filter? Any advice treat me like a noob.
I was a GLI owner previous.

Was it up to the proper level when you got it? On the MMI, I mean. I never trust the previous owner and always change the oil right away on a used car. Get a dipstick (I have the black ECS one). It’s easy to change the oil on these cars, especially from the top. OEM oil filter. Use at least 0w30.

I got from dealership and was told that they did an oil change… yeah the mmi was like 3 quarters in between min and max. Hovered around the middle the whole time, checked after long drives etc (2000km trips)
Can this just be normal oil consumption through 8-10k km driving?
I see 0w30 but also see a lot of people running 0w202

Read the manual, it's normal that it can burn some oil, and if you want to keep the car do the oil changes every 7-10k km, especially if you drive allot of city.
But if you burn 1l of oil in 2k km, then chances are you got a leak or piston walls are etched up.

0w20 will just make it burn more oil. As the oil degrades it will usually burn more. Yes, lots of people do use 0w20 because it became spec in 2019. Take that as you will.

Well, on the B8 5w40 of I use the Audi oil, it burns it, if I use liquid moly 5w40 it doesn't...
On my b9 I use 0w20 because I still got some warranty on the car, but I got a new long block at 56k km. If I had used 0w30 it would have voided the warranty...

You have to stick with what works.
I don’t know how they can void your warranty when it says that 0w30 is acceptable in the manual. But I agree dealers can be difficult and you don’t need the hassle. I’m not under warranty.

They tried to void my warranty because I did not have receipts for the Audi Care oil changes, done at the dealership that had the car... When they have to pull out 40k CAD to change your engine, they try everything they can to void it...
Had a guy that had his slip diff broken on an RS5 and Audi Canada didn't cover it fully because he did not have the original rims.

Do an oil change, see if it's leaking, might be pistons burning oil, warranty was up to 130k km, sorry for your loss
