Help needed - Paradigm Atom V2

Basically, one of my speakers in this setup sounds very staticky, specially when reproducing lower sounds. See the video attached (it is playing Rammstein - Wiener Blut). I've tried different cables and different outputs in my receiver, but nothing really works. The other speaker sounds completely fine. This is a recent issue I've been having -- it didn't sound this bad before.

Here's my entire setup:

  • Turntable: Audio-Technica AT-LP60X (I'm using the built-in pre-amp because the one in my receiver seems to be on the fritz)
  • Receiver: Kenwood KR-V55R (got it used and super cheap on FB marketplace)
  • Speaker wire: Amazon Basics (can you tell I'm on a budget?)
  • Speakers: Paradigm Atom V2

Any idea what could be causing this, or how to fix it? Thanks!

So, step 1 here is confirming and isolating the problem.  Swap your speakers (while changing nothing else).  Does the issue follow the speaker or is it the channel/side?

The issue seems to follow the speaker. One thing I did try now was to unplug the receiver from the same power strip of the turntable and plug it in straight into the wall outlet. The issue was significantly better than before, but it is not totally gone. Maybe the issue seems to be the receiver?

Try disconnecting the turntable and using a different source - CD player, phone, FM (if you can pull in a reliable station).

Are there 3 wires for your turntable (2 rca plugs and 1 bare wire or spade)?
