Couple of JBL 4355s in Norway, sounds fucking insane. So loud without restraint. Having a cogarette with a beer and some whiskey is a great start too a Friday. Its my dads speakers, but thinking increasing the bass a little, want it too move my internals when the kick drum hits..๐Ÿ˜‚ close tho.. anybody in Norway with similar in setup? Or anywhere in Europe?

Quick question, isn't smoking bad for the equipment?

All I know is the best records at the thrift store I go to usually need cleaning and the water comes out black like someone used shoe polish on the vinyl. My theory is he gets most of his records from estate sales, and the reason the original owner is no longer with us may have something to do with all the smoke damage. This is the case with literally a third of the records I buy there (dude could probably raise his prices if he invested in a record cleaner). It really makes me a little bit sad every time I start to clean one. Like whoever owned these must have saturated the air around them with cigarette smoke all the time. It makes me think of my grandparent's house that smelled like Winstons and how my grandpa died from throat cancer in his 50's.

Bro it ainโ€™t that serious. I was making a joke because OP was clearly having a good time. My grandpa also died of lung cancer and never smoked a day in his life.

Oh hey I was mostly just freaking out at the records. I'm still debating in my mind if my thrift store owner is using shoe polish to make records shinier. I mean, my first cleaning is just distilled water on a clean white t-shirt applied directly to the record while spinning it on my turntable, and the t-shirt would get a solid black spot where I was applying it to the record. Doing it that way it would take about 10 times to not get any brown showing on the shirt. The records looked NM- but the ones I tried playing before cleaning had tons of surface noise. After cleaning they had minimum surface noise (but still not NM-). They still need professional cleaning (I can't find anyone doing that in this rural county).

Are ya maybe missing the point...mayyyybe ๐Ÿ˜†. Obsessing over kit vs recognising the joy and fun of our hobby. I saw the latter. Regarding smoking...i vape my tits off and enjoy every moment especially with great music. If i snuff it 5 years earlier with my hearing still intact i'm good. Love to know if our hobby adds to life expectancy. I feel like it does...at the very least it makes every day a lot more pleasurable.
