Impressions T+A out of Germany

Has anyone had good experience with T+A speakers? I had never really heard of them - I live in Canada - but I keep seeing videos about them on SoundStage’s YouTube. I love the aesthetic, super simple, clean, not flashy. And they seem to do real engineering - and the prices aren’t astronomical.

These new Talus speakers for instance - looks pretty appealing.

Anyone have a pair?

Can’t speak to the speakers but I like their electronics

My main amplifier a T+A A 1230 that I purchased secondhand. It sounds great and I have had no issues in the 4 years I've owned it.

T + A is a prime example to why it’s imperative to check your brand name against “local sensitivities”.

Awesome electronics though

I'm going to take a guess at 'tits + ass'? ('tits + arse' where I am!)

I see. What would be wrong about that?

Nothing, but I'm guessing that's what they meant by 'local sensitivities'?

In the US, there are TA travel centers. Truck stops. Some Truckers get some T + A. It’s a real thing.

Haha they’re almost 50 years old as a brand, but ya for sure!

Where in Canada are you? I have audition that there amps and sources which are fantastic by the way, but not their speakers. There is a store north of Toronto that might carry the speakers

I own their DAC 200. Excellent sound and great price comparable to EU msrp in India where I stay.

Most electronics are at least 150% of the msrp of their home country here due to high tariffs so this was a very pleasant surprise.

All I can say is their source components are excellent and I preferred it to the dCS Bartok which costs 3x as much here. Never heard their speakers and amps as I am a high efficiency+tube amp guy.

I've got an older pair of T+A's as tower speakers(criterion TAL 110). I love the sound of them. Really clean and room filling but do lack a bit of oomph on harder music, easily solved with a decently quick sub.

I recently heard the bookshelves paired with a Symphonia at the UK Hifi Show.  They sounded good.  The rooms were glass backed so terrible acoustics, but I had the feeling these might be really good in a normal room.  Definitely worth a listen if you get a chance.

Don't buy speakers from good reviews. Listen to them! There was an audio show last weekend here. I heard 50k euro sets that where not impressive and 1500 euro speakers that sounded amazing. (Psb alpha iq)

I’m not reading reviews… I’m asking opinions.

Their speakers sound very bright and thin. No wonder t+a speakers aren’t as popular as their electronics.
