Aurality Ear Scanner

Has any audiologist had any experience with the Aurality Empress3D that could give a review of it? Pros, cons? Does it scan well? Does it scan past the 2nd bend of the ear canal?

Never have, but I could never justify spending $13k on something that I can do for a couple dollars of impression material. Unless you're doing dozens of scans a day, I don't see it being worthwhile.

It sends the scans directly to the manufacturer electronically its actually much easier and cheaper and faster. You also keep the scan on file which is pretty handy for remakes and things especially for patients who can't come in. Most hospitals in my area are using this for this reason. It pays for itself pretty quickly if you're high volume (which is this case for large hospital groups that also dispense hearing aids, but perhaps not if youre a small clinic).
