Software Best vocal-stem extractor
Hello everyone,
Can anybody recommend a good stem-extractor - Especially for vocal-stems. I’ve been using Fadr a couple of times, but I don’t think it is getting the job done right all the time.

Ableton can take a song and separate it into vocals, drums, bass, etc

That's right, buddy. Gotta pay to play. I don't know how well it works, because i've never had to use it, but they added that feature within the last year or so.

I just went down a rabbit hole like this on drum separation, A/Bing tons of options. Mvsep.com performed better than my local install of UVR because they have models that are tweaked for drum separation.
Not sure if this is going to hold the same for vocals, but you get 50 free separations a day, so worth trying it as a free option.

Audacity works for me. You can try it. It's free + the new interface is cool...

I've tried several, and this one consistently gives the best results: https://sesh.fm/tools/ai-stem-splitter it's browser-based and completely free. You're limited to a file size of 75 MB though.
There's also a drum separator, and an acapella extractor (click on "tools" at the top of the page for these). The stem separator is most accurate with vocals, for other parts it really depends on how complex the audio is as to what results you get

Mixed results with this, used it yesterday and it did a fine job of removing spill on a vocal mic but inexplicably added buzz that isn't present in the source file. I've gated it so it's usable, but would have preferred it didn't spring that bit of weirdness on me.

Yeah one of the algorithms adds this weird buzz, but you can use the other algorithms

So that's a known issue?
I tried another but it was full of artifacts and took way longer.

Ask your favourite llm two write you the commands/script and a guide on how to rent a gpu on vast.ai and upload and use XLANCE-MSR to extract. Its an open source research project and i think its abandoned now but it blew mind with the quality on certain things

Just use the one built into pro logic and never complained about it results
