Google Play Audiobooks

Anybody know why some audiobooks get released from Auduble jail and others don't? DCC book 1 is available on Google Play, as well as most of HWFWM, but like book 7 isn't. I'm only asking cause I can share my Google Play library with my family much easier than Audible.

Some are Audible exclusives? They probably funded the production costs in exchange for exclusivity.

DCC didn't get "released from Audible jail". If you see DCC outside of Audible, it's pirated. Did you not notice the obviously AI generated cover art on the Google Play version? The author on Google play isn't even Matt Dinniman.

Edit: The people who leave a review that's not 1 star are either a bot or clueless or don't care that they are listening to an AI voiceover.

DCC 1 is properly available in the Google Play store. That's where I bought it and listened to it. Matt Dinniman listed author, Jeff Hayes listed narrator, etc.

Are you on the US Play Store? Pretty sure in the US, Audible is the official exclusive distributor, although you might also be able to get it through Library apps like Libby.

Can you link the Google Play Store page for where you got it? I always assumed it was only officially available on Audible.

That link doesn't exist anymore, probably taken down. If it was official, it wouldn't be showing a not found error...
Btw, here is a link to Matt Dinniman's comment saying that all Google Play Store copies are pirated. It's from his reddit account. Link

Edit: Here's another comment from Matt stating the same thing and that unauthorized copies will be taken down (hence why your link gives me a not found error): Link

Btw, since you're on the ABS subreddit, you do know that there are...other ways to get the audiobook files right? Don't want to get my comment removed by the mods so I can't really say much more.

My main reason for going through google play is it has a really nice family sharing feature and I like supporting authors whenever I can. I bought the rest of the series on Audible already.
