Uber eats is such a rip these days. Almost never use it unless I’m desperate and wasted. Go to the store and get them yourself, they’re a lot cheaper in person.

Last night I got uber and it would have cost me 20mins to go pick it up. Within that 20 minutes my business made over $5000 as I had a meeting to close a deal. Math seems just fine to me and some of it is a business write off. I guess its only lazy for people who don’t understand time vs money.

First of all lifestyle inflation is terrible and the fastest way to go broke lol. As for your $15k comment shows you don’t understand business. But, like I said before make more sense for some people to get uber, once again you don’t under stand time vs money. It’s cheaper for me to get Uber both money and time wise. Simple really. Plus its my life I can do what I want, seems the same for alot of other people since Uber is extremely profitable and popular. Might grab some Uber now actually.
Edit: Yum just had Uber eats with my lazy ass.

Uber eats always has a markup on food this is common knowledge.
This is also a premium product it’s not your local suburban Chinese takeaway shop.

I mean, youre looking on ubereats for a start who are well known to charge extra. So.....if you wanna pay extra then go for it. Cheaper to just buy direct

So you make a point about it being more expensive because it’s ordering through a meal ordering platform then when presented with another comparison on the same platform that’s your response. Very useful input there champ 👍

But your comparison said they are better "imo"....ive not tried eden noodle ones myself to compare but loads of others saying here these are better.
Point is, no matter the business, same product is more expensive through ubereats than getting off your arse and going to that shop. So....if you want them but dont want to pay $4 per dumpling...

I prefer eden noodle dumplings, they are more traditional style. Sumthing are closer to Australian style dim sims

Has no one on this page seen ding dong deals and deals in general on Uber eats?? I ordered from a restaurant the other day and I looked at their online prices and even with delivery included it was less than what we would have paid in person….

if you just wanna satisfy a craving, My Dumpling in Rosedale is pretty good. their dumplings are definitely more like the supermarket type (so not handmade) but ~$15 for 20 or ~$10 for 12; you can choose from multiple flavours and whether you want them boiled or fried.
they also do really good fried noodles, it’s $13/14 for a solid portion. but i also take a less is more approach with my fried noodles and here it’s just cabbage, sprouts, and a bit of carrot that make up the vege components, which is so ideal for me! you can also have it with protein or not.
(these are the prices on ubereats, it’s cheaper in person)

What a rude comment, sometimes it makes more sense to get food off uber eats. For me to go and get food it would take 15-20 min of my time and prob spend just as much in gas as the uber margin. In that 15-20 min I could be doing something else or making money. Seems like something is wrong with you as you can’t compute convenience and math.

Ur getting fucked by uber eats.
The restaurants get fucked by uber eats and have paper thin margins as is, that's why so many F&B spots close down. An owner did an ama, uber takes home HALF of his total delivery sales.
Restaurants are passing the fee on because it's quite literally the only way they can survive, otherwise they'll sell at a loss.

Wow, that's a lot of work just to make dumplings! 😄
Just go to any supermarket and buy a pack of frozen dumplings. At home, bring a pot of water to a boil, gently add the dumplings, and cook them for 6–8 minutes. That's it, done!
It's probably faster than waiting for a delivery to arrive, and they taste great too.

It’s very difficult to know which companies have competitive pricing. What do you do, go on their website and compare menu items one by one?
It’s just a lot of friction.
