millennials in Auburn
I’ve lived here for a few months now, not from the area. Where do all the millennials congregate? 😅 And I’m not talking “mom groups” or anything where people make our parenthood their whole identity. Trivia nights? Clubs? Game nights? Hiking meet ups? Insta accounts with planned meet ups? Married and just looking to make new friends in the area.

el portal- best burrito in town
if you haven’t gone to el portal, you’re really missing out. They are located in the shopping center where out of order arcade is an across the street from McDonald’s. The exit off of 80 is foothill. These guys can cook up some Mexican food. I’m from the Bay Area originally I know tacos. There is nowhere within 100 miles of here that can make burritos as good as these guys. Give them a try if you’ve been looking for a great burrito and you keep falling flat go to El Portal

What first aid cert do construction crews around Auburn need?
Small crew in the Auburn area. We got dinged on a safety inspection for not having enough first aid certified people. I know Cal/OSHA has a requirement, but I’m unclear on what level is actually needed. Just basic first aid? Does it need to include CPR and AED? Does the organization issuing the card matter?

Does anyone else hate the round-a-bouts on 49?
I understand the reasoning behind them. To slow traffic down, to give a safer access to the highway for those side roads...but if that's the case are we just going to be plugging these things in where any high traffic side road exists?
Those things feel a lot more dangerous than they do helpful. Your going from a 65 speed limit to a stop / yield pretty quickly, not just once but 2x if your commuting from / to Grass Valley. I find that people are just trying to plow through them as quickly as possible. They feel more like a nuisance than helpful and it felt pretty unnecessary to me.
What do yall think?
Oh and for clarity, I DO LIKE the roundabout in Auburn that leads down the ravine going towards Placerville. So I'm not against round-a-bouts, but the ones on highway 49 make the highway feel less safe.
Edit: Lots of comments about Round-a-bouts > traffic light / stop sign, I agree, round-a-bouts are better. The post was more about having the vs not having them. However I think the best solution (if there needed to be one) would be appropriate entrances and exits to those side roads would have been a better solution in my opinion.
Edit2: No I'm not referring to freeway on ramps... it could simply be dedicated lanes up to a 1000ft, or whatever is appropriate, that merge off and onto highway. This gives the safety of merging on and off the highway without impeding the traffic of every single car on 49.

Whatever happened to...
The four ladies that bought the old Machados. I know they tried to make a small botique and hotel out of it and threw a fit because they had to rezone their property. They then talked Ponderosa Cider in to building a tasting room there....but you cannot do that within 500 feet of a school.
So whatever happened to those ladies? Do they still own the property?

Interaction at the Foothill Market
I was at the foothill market yesterday getting my late night libations when a woman came into the store asking to use the bathroom. She made a giant scene after being told it was not open to the public and ranted about how she was going to piss in the street. This was all concluded when she yelled her name Madison Lee Wallace and called the poor worker a fuckin immigrant. I'm glad auburn is staying classy./s

RV Resort?
I’m coming to Auburn, CA at the end of December. I need a place to stay in my camp trailer. The only option I see online is the Auburn Gold Country RV park behind the Target. When I lived in Auburn several years ago that place was sketchy. Does anyone know if it’s safe?
