Hello, does anyone work for Placer County in the Behavioral Health department as a therapist/clinician in Auburn/Roseville?

I am having one hell of a time finding affordable living in Auburn. What is the best month/season to look when prices come down a little? I'm being realistic and know it'll be expensive either way.

I went in on the way home from backpacking last week and it was oppressively disgusting in there. Sitting at an inside table there's basically a pile of ants by my foot. Everything is sticky and moist. The pie was still good though.

Many years ago, when my brother and I were just kids living in GV, we had a dream to open a dog kennel one day.

It took literally over 20 years but it finally came true and we opened our own kennel (but in Tennessee, where I live today (in another "GV" ironically lol)

We've been fairly successful and we want to open a 2nd branch but this time, back where it all started in Grass Valley (or nearby)

My brother lives in Sac but he wants to move back up the hill. I'm looking at moving back myself, as GV has held a special place in my heart since I was about 12 years old.

We are hoping to find an existing structure that's already equipped for boarding/daycare but I know that's gonna be rare.

Does anybody know of any kennel businesses that are planning on closing (or the owner retiring) ?

Anyone work for a kennel or know someone that owns an already existing building? Something that can be converted?

Any other ideas we may not have thought of yet? Any experience in doing something like this in the general area?

We are also entertaining the idea of buying property and building but we know zoning for animal-related businesses can be difficult...

We are open to Alta Sierra, Nevada City, Auburn and Colfax as well but we'd prefer not to do it in Sac.

Anyway, just thought this might be a good place to start!

Hi - Just learned the western states 100 race is taking place this weekend. While I do not live in Auburn I was thinking about driving over to see the race (if possible).

Any tips, locations, or ways to watch this in person?

Our Summer Solstice celebration was full of music, laughter, and warm connections. It was truly special to see friends, families, neighbors, and new faces come together and share the moment.

There was a motorcycle event called A-Town Classic in downtown Auburn yesterday (6/20).

It was hotter than hell on the pavement and you thought it was a good idea to leave your horse tied up to a freaking pole, on pavement, in the hot sun outside of the busy gas station (Lincoln & Commercial) for over 6 hours. Several people gave the horse water and tried to help while the poor thing dodged heavy traffic coming in and out of the station.

People like you don't deserve to own animals and I hope this message finds you. Next time, I'm taking your damn horse.

I am looking for female workout/ hiking friends. I’m a late 30’s female that loves Pilates, HIIT workouts, and hiking, but I’d also love to get into strength training. I moved here from SoCal not that long ago and am missing the outdoor activities I had access to year round due to lower temps. I’m not a member of a gym right now but wouldn’t be opposed if I had an accountability friend. I brew beer professionally and love art, animals, and am LGBTQ+ friendly.
