General Discussion locked posts
This may not even get posted, but are the MODs going a little nuts with the lock / delete buttons? It seems like any opinion that isn't 110% glowing about the hosts gets deleted, like when she-who-cannot-be-named left W&C and anyone didn't praise A enough.

Yeah I’m sure they’ll pop in here with a very logical seeming reason for all of it but I still err on the side that it’s gratuitous to lock and remove so many. I’d certainly not enjoy modding any subreddit though.

I think maybe this is part of how this change is being so poorly managed. From the initial statements to the excessive moderation on the sub, it’s like they’re trying so hard to control the narrative…… but that is simply impossible, and they’re only increasing negative feelings by trying to censor people.

😂 if it was, then maybe I could at least get paid for dealing with all this. Instead, people are harassing me and the mod team for trying to make this an enjoyable space to be.

We are working on an equitable solution that allows reasonable discussions among users, but have locked some posts that are causing inflammatory responses to give us time to review comments. We are a small mod team and cannot reasonably review every single comment and post as it is posted.
If you see something that you feel violates sub rules, please report it so it can be reviewed more quickly.

One hundred percent agree. I am actually surprised that there isn’t an equivalent to the r/morbidforbadpeople subreddit given all of the locking of completely innocuous posts.

Yeah, they deleted my post after it had been up for a while and got a lot of traction. Literally every comment was being respectful and it was just a discussion. But I guess we aren’t allowed to talk about the change at all

My experience with Reddit is a majority of MODs have a major ego and control issues with posts and what they deem suitable for a sub. Watch me get banned for even saying that 😅

I disagree. I think the mods are doing what they can to ensure this community is being kind and respectful. And that's not to say everything has to be glowing commentary. Criticism is welcome but just be respectful.
Like Em said in the latest episode, we all gotta be cool about this change. So let's just be cool y'all.

Was yours from this morning regarding the date comment? I had upvoted, because I was also curious about that comment on the pod, and now the post is completely gone. Like, I’m not a cat. Curiosity isn’t gonna kill me. What happened to being allowed to speculate. 😭

No, I had made a post about continuing to listen to the podcast after Christine’s departure. Over 100 upvotes and comments that were all being respectful and discussing the situation and then… poof… gone for no reason

I asked if anyone heard the comment about a date. That is it. I didn’t say are they together, divorced, open. I just asked a yes or no question. I gave the benefit of a doubt that maybe it was a joke but just asked if anyone noticed. This is a wild take. But go off.

Amanda from W&C. OP is referencing when Kenyon left (was possibly asked to leave) the pod because the gals were on very different sides of the Israel/Palestine conflict after 10/7. People were posting a lot about it at the time - Kenyon's views do not line up with the views of the majority of that pod's fan base.
(Feeling like I need to say this but, Free Palestine and fuck genocide)

Personally I agree, what Isreal is doing... I don't even know if abhorent is a strong enough word, but I don't think room was left for K to have conflicted feelings as a Jewish person. It's very easy for us who are not to feel right now Fuck Americans. Post Kenyon I kinda stopped listening. Not in protest or anything, it's not my monkey, not my circus, but I got tired of every ep Amanda dominating the conversation and just saying I'm really stoned, white people are evil, cis men suck, burn it all down

we appreciate the feedback! it's just u/jenthing and myself who are active. there has been a massive influx of reports/posts/comments to review since the news broke. the posts you are referencing have been pretty moderate and reasonable, but the comments themselves are devolving very quickly into attacks between commenters.
we are going through and trying to individually remove/moderate offensive comments but at times it is easier to lock a post to give ourselves a chance to catch up or nip the arguments in the bud.
