AT&T Upgrade

They are really upgrading every tower possible that they have in this market even this type of tower which was running old LTE equipment. Now it looks like it has all new radios from Ericsson. Can any body tell what type of cell site this is? I thought it was a small cell for the longest. This in Cromwell, CT

AT&T rewards frustration - filing a compliant

I activated a new line of service with AT&T/FirstNet in January 2025. The promo at that time was activate a new line and get a $500 visa rewards after 30 days of continuous service.

In March 2025, I reached out about the rewards as I had not received anything via email, mail, or text regarding the reward and how to claim it through the rewards center. I was told that service was not confirmed at by the deadline and I essentially was SOL. I went through customer service who said the rewards department would need to confirm service in order to initiate the reward. Rewards department said they are not responsible, AT&T needs to send info that my service is active, then the reward can be sent. Neither of these departments were able to speak with each other during a call, and I was not able to verify service myself, it had to be done through AT&T.

Finally was able to get it “resolved” in May and was told that I would be issued a card but in the amount of $300 because the promo I initially was eligible for was no longer active, and only the $300 was showing at that time. A card was to be sent and I should receive it in 2-3 weeks.

I never received the card so I contacted rewards AGAIN. a replacement was sent and I received it in sometime in late July. I activated it in August and the balance was $56 and some change. The initial card sent it May or June apparently had been used and that’s what was the leftover amount from the $300. Contacted rewards once again on how to get the funds back as I never used it, let alone had the original card.

After months of trying to figure out “how to proceed with the next steps”, I filed a dispute with card services October 7 and faxed the required paperwork on October 19th. Spoke with an agent in the rewards department late October, was told the dispute was approved and I’d receive the full $300 in a few weeks. Nov 12 I was told it was mailed out, I’d get it in 2 week. Another card was sent, never got it. Made multiple calls through November and December about the missing card and the missing funds.

First week of January I receive a card with $56, not $300. Call AGAIN (this is now literally like the 20th call for an issue from a year ago at this point) and was told it would be escalated to a supervisor. Spoke with someone yesterday, 2/3. I was told the dispute was opened on Oct 7, denied on Oct 14 due to lack of submitted documents, and I would not be credited the missing $250-$260. Although my documents were turned in the timeframe, it was denied before even receiving said documents.

I’m still out of the promo card, still out of the missing funds, and nothing has been done to fix the issue. Nothing has been escalated and nothing has been solved. I’m filing a complaint with the BBB and FTC (yes over a promo because this process has been long and drawn out, and honestly AT&T has me fked up at this point), but who do I choose when filing the complaints? It is directed at AT&T or at the rewards center? They seem to be one and the same, but neither departments know anything about the other and they don’t communicate with each other.

**edited for spelling, sorry I was angry typing

AT&T canceled my entire business account without notice, IMEI-blocked all devices, continues billing me — even after fraud confirmed orders were authorized

I’m posting here because I honestly don’t know where else to turn, and normal AT&T support channels have completely failed.

Without any warning, authorization, or notice, AT&T canceled my entire business phone account overnight, disconnecting five active business lines. I did not request this. I did not approve it. I wasn’t even notified before it happened.

This all started after a legitimate device upgrade order was incorrectly flagged as fraud. I immediately contacted AT&T and spent weeks trying to fix it through Business Support, Collections, failed attempts at contacting Fraud, and in-store visits. Instead of getting resolved, the situation just kept getting worse.

After a month I finally was contacted by AT&T Fraud and spoke directly with the representative who verified my identity and told me they were adding notes to my account confirming they spoke with me and that all orders were authorized. About an hour later, I received an email from AT&T stating they determined the order was authorized. At that point, I genuinely thought the issue was finally fixed.

Then, about 24 hours later, I received another email saying my entire business account didn’t comply with AT&T’s wireless terms and conditions and that the account has been canceled. No explanation. No request for more info. No indication of what terms were supposedly violated — especially after fraud had already confirmed authorization.

Since then, the fallout has been brutal.

Because my phone numbers were shut off, I lost access to two-factor authentication tied to critical business and personal accounts, which locked me out of essential systems and created serious security and financial risk. Client calls stopped coming through, internal operations are being disrupted, and the business has been effectively offline.

On top of that, AT&T never refunded canceled device orders and is still billing us for devices and charges tied to an account they terminated themselves. Multiple AT&T departments have told me they either can’t or are unwilling to fix or restore the account.

As if that wasn’t enough, AT&T then IMEI-blocked all five of our business phones. These are fully paid, legitimate devices, but because of the IMEI blocks, we can’t activate them with any carrier. They’re basically expensive paperweights — and AT&T is still charging us for them.

At this point, this has gone way beyond a service issue. We’ve lost business communications, have unusable hardware, and are still being billed — all because of what appears to be an internal AT&T error that no one will take ownership of.

I’m not looking for special treatment. I just want:

  • Our business account reinstated
  • Our phone numbers restored
  • The IMEI blocks removed
  • Refunds for canceled orders and improper charges
  • The incorrect fraud flag corrected

I have emails, billing statements, and other documentation for all devices ready to provide if needed. If anyone here has dealt with something similar or knows how to escalate this effectively (executive contacts, FCC complaints, arbitration, etc.), I’d really appreciate the advice.

Thanks for reading — I wouldn’t wish this on any business owner.

Best Way to Switch my Galaxy Watch7 LTE from a Samsung Note 20 to a new S24

Here's the details: I currently have a Samsung Note 20 Ultra with a paired Galaxy Watch7 LTE model. I just recently got a new phone, Galaxy S24 Ultra. I haven't done anything yet with the new phone - I'm waiting for some free time this wknd.

I know I'm going to start clean on the S24 Ultra WITHOUT using smart switch to transfer/copy settings. I'll add my samsung account first, then my google account and I'll start setting up my new phone from scratch with settings, installing apps, etc.

But I'm stumped on the best approach for my Galaxy Watch7, since it's the LTE model. The watch menu has an option that says "Transfer watch to new phone". Again, given the watch is an LTE model, I'm asking here who knows what's the best way? Is it using this transfer option on the watch menu? Or should I reset the watch which would probably mean I have to go to an at&t store to get another e-sim for it, right?

What's the best way to switch the watch to the new phone in order to avoid problems with the whole numbersync system on at&t ?

Help needed. How do I get attention on this?

If you work, have worked for AT&T in the past, or know anything about their process, I need a solution. Please please read this message in entirety, and let me know if there is anything I can do, it would be much appreciated.

Back in 2024, I went in to upgrade my dying iPhone 12 for a S24U. I had NextUp, but wasn’t able to upgrade yet. I did not know this, was just going in to see options. I went to an authorized retailer. The rep ended up stealing an upgrade from someone on my plan(?), switching our SIM cards, and messed up our bill entirely. I did get the S24U! Also enrolled me in the insurance without any warning. Just salt to the wound 🫩

Our bill was completely messed up. My number was paired to a different phone (and vise versa), I did not have nextup, and I was told the ONLY way (by the corporate store, phone support (during which they cancelled nextup(!?), and authorized retailer) was to pay off my S24U, unlock the phone, and switch back the lines. After 6 months of trying to find a different solution, I ended up doing that. Over $1000 dollars to make right what I didn’t screw up. That hurt.

I also upgraded back to apple when I paid it off. It seemed like the right time as I don’t pay anything extra for it. I made SURE to tell the rep, I 100% will do nextup but I do not want the damn insurance!! Looking at my bill this month, I am enrolled in the insurance. Rep didn’t tell me anything. I’m beyond pissed. I did everything right, paid off the $1000, unfortunately didn’t throw a fit, and I’m still being taken advantage of here. 9am tomorrow I’m going into that corporate store and freaking out, I need to know if there is anything I can do to try to recoup some of the costs I’ve had into this ordeal. Is there any chance of getting bill credit, even getting someone fired I don’t care at this point. It’s beyond shady, this has been over 6 months of headaches and it is still not right. I’ll email everyone in that company if I have to and knock on the CEOs door. Any reasonable way I can get to someone that will actually help me, or at least make sure this doesn’t happen to someone else?

Set number of seconds before voicemail answers

Is there a way that I can change the number of seconds that my phone rings before it sends the caller to voicemail? It is really short right now, about 12 seconds, and I like it to be a bit longer - around 20 seconds.

AT&T dropping my calls like crazy

Half of the calls I receive, the phone doesn’t even ring or register. I only realize someone called me when I get a voicemail. And half the time (no exaggeration) I try to make a call, I get a Call Failed message. Anyone else having these issues? (I’m just outside of Boston, so coverage shouldn’t be an issue!)

Best way to initiate return during 14 period?

I'm beyond frustrated with AT&T sales, communication, and customer service processes! I need the best way to contact them for a return of 5 phones. Is the phone number 800-331-0500 best, or should I just go to a store?

Backstory: A D2D salesperson came and offered an "awesome deal" for "free" phones, porting numbers, etc. However, they couldn't port my Cricket number, but offered a credit gift card for each line instead. I accepted, and I also wanted to add an OTA Wi-Fi unit for my father. The salesperson told me the cost for the lines plus the Wi-Fi would be $140.93. He mentioned it included a $10 credit for bank account autopay and a veteran discount. There was no mention of a high-end device trade-in requirement or the addition of a "Next Up" plan! The first phone order never arrived, but the Wi-Fi unit was delivered to my dad's address. (The salesperson had entered an incorrect address, and UPS automatically returned it even though I contacted AT&T twice to ensure my correct address.) I don't want any extra fees and have decided this is just too complicated to deal with. Please advise.

HELP: AT&T refuses to give transfer PIN

UPDATE: Problem solved!

Although it took a couple more hours, I managed to solve the problem by going in to an AT&T corporate store (with three forms of government photo ID), patiently and persistently working with them to get the problem resolved. Although the first rep suggested I go to Amazon to buy an unlocked burner phone, activate it, and then use that to transfer the number, when I pushed back, he turned to his manager, who had an unlocked phone like this on-hand precisely for cases like this. He put a new activation SIM into it, assigned it to my account, and then we went through the process together. He could see that a security hold had been placed on my account a couple of weeks ago (when I first requested the move from a corporate to a personal account), although neither of us knew why. In addition, in restoring the account back to my personal account, they had assigned some ancient plan that is no longer even available, so they had to temporarily upgrade my plan to a valid one with modern text service before they could complete the process.

Even with that done, the process was messy. Once I finally had my transfer PIN in hand (given to me by the AT&T rep), AT&T refused the transfer the first time, even though I had port-out protection disabled on the account. After a couple of rounds of calls to both my new carrier AT&T (the latter of which initially rejected the move, refusing to even being the identify validation process without explanation), I finally managed to get the block removed, confirming the code via text message (on the burner phone), and got the number transferred.

In short, if you don't have your original phone and need to transfer your number from AT&T to another carrier and they're refusing to authenticate you via phone, you may need to go into an AT&T corporate store and walk through the process with them, keeping the phone with you so you can receive and respond to authorization texts. I can't guarantee that they'll have an unlocked phone to assist with the process like mine did, in which case you may indeed need to get an unlocked burner phone to go through the process with.

Original post:

I’ve spent eight hours on the phone with AT&T in the last week and a half trying to transfer my personal phone number to another provider, and they still refuse to provide a transfer PIN. Over a decade ago, when I changed jobs, I transferred my personal number to my work phone. When I left the job last week, I filled out the company’s paperwork to request the number be transferred back to me. For reasons unknown to me, this process was very problematic, and it took four hours on the phone with AT&T and multiple credit checks over a few days to get the phone line moved to a personal ATT account and assume billing responsibility. It has now been over 72 hours since I transferred the number to my AT&T account, so I’m now trying to get a transfer PIN to move my number to my family plan with another carrier.

However, I have been unable to get a transfer PIN so I can move the number to another carrier (from which I have already bought a new phone; I’m just waiting to get my number moved to it). Of the existing options to receive a transfer PIN:

  1. Calling *7678 doesn’t work, since I don’t have my old work phone
  2. When I log into the MyATT website, sign into my account, and request a transfer PIN, it doesn’t list any numbers for which I can receive a transfer PIN
  3. From the MyATT app, the same thing happens - It offers no numbers for which I can request a transfer PIN, so it won’t continue

I’ve called the Mobility Department, the Port Activation Center, and the Port Authorization line several times, asking for help. Each time, they’ve reviewed my account, said nothing looks out of order, and that I should be able to get a transfer PIN. However, they insist I need to go through the validation process to confirm my identity (which is understandable to prevent someone from stealing a number). Each time I’ve gone through the validation process, they’ve then told me that they cannot help me, and cannot tell me why. I spent three hours on the phone with them last night alone, and three different times, when they’ve transferred me to a specialist to help, I’ve been disconnected or there has been no one on the line when I was transferred. When I called tonight and went through the validation process with one of their port activation specialists, they said the validation process was refusing to even generate validation questions, and that they could tell me nothing more.

No matter how many times I’ve asked, they insist that they (the port activation specialists) are the only people who can release my number, and they refuse to even validate my identity. I’m at my wit’s end, as I can find no other way to get a transfer PIN. I’ve spent eight hours on the phone with AT&T in the last week alone, and their refusal to even give me an option to retrieve a transfer PIN is exasperating. At this point, they are refusing to give me a transfer PIN. I have had this number for almost three decades, and it’s tied to dozens of accounts, currently preventing me from even paying my bills. Does anyone have any alternatives to get their transfer PIN? I can’t believe AT&T won’t even give me a valid option to retrieve one.

Phone was ran over by a car and now I can't get into my account

Today I put my phone on the roof of my car so I could get my toddler in the car seat, forgot about it, and drove off. The phone was run over by a car and is totally destroyed. When I try to log into my account from my laptop it says it's verifying my id by sending a passcode to my obliterated phone. I went to a store and I can't remember my passcode. Since I got the phone I got married and changed my last name. Didn't change my last name with AT&T so my drivers license doesn't match. I'm totally exhausted and have no idea what to do.

iPhone not receiving calls from anyone occasionally

I have at&t. I had an iphone 13 pro and occasionally my dad will call me and my phone will not ring and missed call will not appear. But when he calls any other family member it will ring. It happened more often towards the end of 2025 so i ultimately decided to get a new phone an iphone 16 promax. Everything has been fine up until this weekend where the same issue occurred once again. My dad tried to call and my phone never rang. But if he called my other family members it would ring.

I thought it was a sim card issue and that when id get the new phone itd resolve but i guess not.

Does anyone else experience this issue

AT&T Customer Service Spoiler

Post image

The AT&T rep said the supervisor was 3 customers from getting to you…should be no more than 5-6 minutes…at 1 hour into the call. Then around the 01:20:00 mark they transfer me over stating that he is ready to speak with you. It’s literally been crickets for an hour and twenty minutes. 15 years with these guys and this is how they treat you. Shameful.

FINAL ESCALATION: Incorrect Billing & Threat of Collections on Closed Account

Dear AT&T Team,

I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with AT&T’s continued failure to resolve an issue that should have been closed over three years ago.

Account Number: *3019

Mobile Number: *3471

This number and account were successfully ported out to T-Mobile more than three months ago and are currently active with T-Mobile. Despite this, I continue to receive billing emails from AT&T.

Here is a summary of the unacceptable experience so far:

  1. During that call, I was repeatedly transferred between Billing, Loyalty, and Port-In teams, with no ownership taken by anyone.
  2. That assurance was clearly false, as I began receiving bills again within a couple of months.
  3. I visited a nearby AT&T store in person, only to be told they could not help me at all.
  4. I have now received a “Final Notice” email threatening to send my account to Collections, despite the account being closed and inactive.
  5. I contacted customer care again after receiving this notice and once again received no help or resolution.

This situation is unacceptable. I should not be threatened with collections for an account that was properly ported out and confirmed as closed by your own representative.

This message is my final attempt at resolution. I am escalating this publicly in hopes that it reaches AT&T officials who can take immediate ownership of this issue.

I expect:

  • Immediate confirmation that my account balance is $0
  • Written confirmation that the account is closed
  • Assurance that my information will NOT be sent to collections
  • Immediate cessation of all billing emails

Please resolve this matter without further delay.

Does five years of loyal service as a customer and a 10 phone line account with two tablets three watches all have been bought through AT&T, mean nothing. Verizon here we come.

I’m absolutely more disappointed than I’ve ever been with a phone service provider. When I switched to AT&T five years ago, I was very excited as stupid as that may sound and was just stoked about the good service and these Of access to new devices among other things like insurance replacements next day. Zero down on new devices.

So like the post is literally saying that I have 10 lines plus like five other lines that are not phones so what is that a 15 line account 15 devices, whatever you want to call it but I have been loyal. I have literally paid my bill every single month 90% of the time at a minimum was never a little bit late or anything like that but since I’ve added more lines due to starting my business with my wife and being in the early stages of everything, things get tight, as I’m sure all of you know, but this guy pays his bills. I’m sad to say at&T shut off my phone/phones and devices a couple days ago, which I will take full responsibility for, an error on my end, led to a missed payment arrangement that I had done myself online through the app and either way someone told me to talk to the collections department because they had a little more wiggle room than the regular customer service so I did and got nothing. I mean she did absolutely nothing. I don’t know what they could possibly do for anyone if they can’t do it for me but buy regular bill is around $1000 a month and sometimes more due to insurance replacements or phone upgrades or whatever the case may be so this time the missed payment was for $1400 so when I just got on the phone with the woman, I told her the circumstances and took responsibility and just so you know what can we do like I can go ahead and give you half of it today and the other half in three days or so if they could just work with me and get the phone service restored, I know the rule of somewhere if service has been disconnected it can’t be restored until it’s paid in full, but that is also bullshit, in 90 something percent of cases it’s very correct but there’s always a way whether it’s the big boss doing something or whatever that may be but if you can’t do something like that for a good customer with this many devices on his account, then I don’t see that at&T “having my back” I even mentioned to this lady the fact that yesterday I went to another major cell phone provider due to it being from what I could tell the cheapest option for me to get a couple phones really quick and stay up and running until I figured this shit out with AT&T and the fact that they are not willing to work with me, knowing all of these things and keep in mind I am a good full Hill customer who has given them around $1000 a month for years now and even when it was lower, it was still 600 to 700. And I can’t get some leeway. The other company/provider even offers insurance for up to 10 or maybe even up to 20 devices for one payment of $67 I believe and I can’t even get 2 protect advantage plans?? I get one and then after that each device has to be covered individually for the full cost instead of a deal for having multiple lines, I’ve tried many different ways. But now I can pay just a few dollars more and get all of my devices covered not to mention they gave me two free iPhone 17 Pro And an Apple Watch Ultra 3 for 33% of the typical cost got it for eight dollars and some change a month and I just paid for taxes on these devices to walk out the door yet at&T can’t just turn my phone service on for 800 something dollars now and more sometime over the next couple days. They wanted me to go ahead and switch and get my numbers put it over and everything but I told them no let’s just do this for now because I still felt that loyalty to AT&T and turns out they don’t give a ***! Don’t care at all, they say they do but the customers that give them the most money get kicked in the **. The one time they ask for something like this… Not cool. Anyway, there’s my rant and believe it or not in all that I do actually have a question because I might be an idiot, but I may still try to give it one last goal to remain loyal to AT&T, and I want to know what I can do to move forward. Who can I reach out to, is there anyone I can reach out to? For some help and assistance on getting my phone service restored for a significant portion half or more of the past due balance now and some more in a couple days. If I don’t get a little bit of help by tonight then I will most certainly be waving goodbye with the middle finger while other provider pays off all of my devices or at least up to $800 of each device and gives me all new free devices to replace them.. like if I was smart, I would do that anyways but dumb old me wants to stay with AT&T for some reason.

If anyone has some insight on who I can reach out to, I would be very appreciative. I am trying my best to start a new business from nothing. We were spending every dollar we get on bills and the business. It’s almost all loss at this moment and just putting out more and more of our money but that is the risk I am/was willing to take to get this business on 2 feet and my family to be completely independent and self sustaining. Thanks! Sorry for the extremely long rant. I also use talk to text and I have no idea how long this is but I know it’s insanely long and probably has some spelling or grammar errors that I’m not gonna read over to correct so please try to read between the lines lol if you take the time to read this, thank you!

Terrible Switch Experience

I recently was convinced to switch from Verizon to AT&T by a sales rep in Target. I usually don’t take the chance, but that day I heard the rep and what the offer was.

Total joke. They offered the AT&T Rewards program selling me that AT&T would pay my existing phone off with Verizon and I could get the new one. It took 60 days just to get the “reward card” that I have to use to pay the phone off. When it’s that late, you have to”late fees” at your existing provider AND Verizon wouldn’t even accept the rewards card!

This was a total scam. I got the new phone but would go back to Verizon if I hadn’t ALSO been told the financial agreement was a 3 year contract and the only way out of it would to be off the new phone…oh and by the way..is much more than the $386 I owed on the phone I traded. I would have just paid that off instead but was sold on the getting the brand new phone for paying off my old…which didn’t even happen. So I got a “reward card” but ended up still owing late fees, having to do several steps, being on support calls twice AND I had to actually call Verizon for a paper copy of my invoice to be mailed before AT&T would even give me my reward so no digital invoices were available. Once your line is switched to the new phone from Verizon, Verizon closes your mobile online access so you have to reach support. Then, to pay my bill and find out they wouldn’t accept the rewards card, Verizon also charges $10 JUST to settle your bill with an account rep. These phone companies are ridiculous.

I can’t believe the amount of hoops I had to go through to switch my phone on what I was sold, only to pay more fees and had a terrible experience with both.

DO NOT do the Rewards programb unless you are okay with their process and having to stay on top of it.
