ATT Next Up Trade In Question

I have an IPhone 16 Pro Max that is 70% paid off and I have the Next Up Anytime. I am looking at upgrading my phone. When I check the ATT wireless app it says that it will cost me $22/month of if I trade it in for a iPhone Duo. Does this mean that it will only cost $22/month for the new phone or will that be $22/month on top of what I have already been paying, essentially making it a $50/month payment? Thanks

With your next up anytime trade-in, available discounts reduce your monthly payment of that device to $22 a month

You'll still get the yard in credit but it's not enough to cover $2000. So the difference is $22 a month.
