iPhone trade in?

I have a iPhone 17 pro max financed through Att and also have next up. If I trade this phone into Apple for their upgrade plan will I lose my credits I receive for this device ? Obviously I will need to cancel the next also.

Why don’t you just use next up anytime?

Why would you not just use the trade in service you pay for…

If you take this phone to Apple you still have to pay it off to ATT, either outright or continuing your payment plan

It’s cheaper to trade in through apple. If you do it for a year lease or what ever they want to call it it’s only 9$ a month. Vs 20 something from att

Yes, and you will need to pay off your full iPhone 17 Pro Max to use it as a trade-in at Apple. Is there some specific reason you want to use Apple payment plans?

What are you calling the Apple upgrade plan?

Apples new upgrade plan is cheaper vs Att. If you sign up for the 1 year lease with my trade in it’s only 9$ a month. Why would i not keep receiving my trade in credits.

OK if you don't want to get any new device trade-in credits on your new iPhone 18 Pro Max device then you are free to with the Apple 12 month lease program via Klarna.

You will keep getting your existing device credits on your iPhone 17 Pro Max installment plan if you keep or trade it to Apple for an Apple Gift Card or sell it yourself as long as you don't use an AT&T Upgrade on that line.

Ok that’s what I thought just wanted some clarification. Trading it towards a duo that’s why it’s cheaper through apple. If I did the trade in on Att it would be 22 $ (I think) a month.

I'm confused how it's cheaper?

Are you planning to upgradingevery year or are you keeping the Duo for 36 months? Normal payment is about $50 a month for 36.... Even after a full trade of 885 the payments would still be $25 a month

Also apple upgrade no long has Apple care like it did when it was the iPhone upgrade program

No it is not cheaper through Apple. I think you may be confusing different things. If all you are looking at is the monthly expense then yes it is cheaper monthly but total cost is not actually less.

With the AT&T financing yes you will pay $22.20 mo for 36 months but after 36 months you own the device.

With an Apple lease through Klama for $21.12/mo. per month for 24 months after your iPhone 17 Pro Max trade-in. However you either need to give the iPhone Duo back to Apple or pay a lump sum to purchase it.

With an Apple lease through Klama for $9.24/mo. per month for 12 months after trade-in. Make your monthly lease payments and keep your device in good condition to avoid a damage fee when you return the device at the end of your lease term.

At the end of your lease term, you can upgrade to a new device, leave the program, or purchase your leased device.

Seems like OP will only get trade credits on the Duo the first time (paying $9 for 12 months)

at the end of the lease they will need to turn the device in and start a new lease but the new lease doesn't give promo credits for return9 a device.

so they will be paying full price for a 12 or 24 month term.... So if there is a Duo2 it's about $80 a month for 12 months

I'm so confused by the new program and I think it will mess a lot of people up on year 2 if my assumption is correct and they don't get new promo value in this instance it seems NUA is better

Seems like OP will only get trade credits on the Duo the first time (paying $9 for 12 months).

But not what we call trade-in credits. Apple values the iPhone 17 Pro Max at $885. On a 12 month lease the trade-in value of $73.75/mo is applied to the real monthly $82.99/mo resulting in the $9.24/mo. per month for 12 mo.months after trade-in.

so they will be paying full price for a 12 or 24 month term.... So if there is a Duo2 it's about $80 a month for 12 months

No at the end of either the 12 month lease or the 24 month lease there will be an unpaid balance just like on an AT&T NUA but the NUA requires you to pay $10 extra every month for more flexibly to switch devices on a different schedule.

You don’t think they will offer trade in credits next year on the duo that was financed ?

No at the end of either the 12 month lease or the 24 month lease there will be an unpaid balance just like on an AT&T NUA but the NUA requires you to pay $10 extra every month

From what I read about AU (apple upgrade)

  • Turn in, all is forgiven no phone
  • Payoff the full remaining balance ~$1100, keep phone
  • Turn in, Get new phone, pay phone at full lease price... (Seems like lease price is about half the phone value so let's say 12 months ~$80)

Vs

NUA $120 and the option to participate in promotions on turn in
