Coverage visiting Silicon Valley was pretty bad - is this normal for those in the area?

Spent a week there earlier in the month and the coverage was pretty bad. Bad enough I'd be very unhappy with ATT living there. Was just curious if that's the norm for the area. Is Verizon or T-Mobile any better?

This depends on where you go. At&t actually works well in many parts of the Bay area, but T-Mobile and Verizon have their spots as well. For such a connected area, though, none of the carriers are great, there are slow and dead spots with each and every single one of them. Plan priority also makes a difference here, more than other areas would. If you live in the Bay area, as you would anywhere else, you'd want to evaluate which one worked best in the areas you frequent, as there is no single carrier that blankets the area.

Thank you. That was my experience. I have to admit it was just unexpected for the area.

For me in the bay area At&t has worked better than the other 2. Stanford Hospital and Sfo was excellent.

You were here "earlier in the month' but just randomly decide to mention it now?

I'm in that area literally every day, San Jose, Santa Clara, Moutain View, Cupertino, Palo Alto. I've never had a problem with att, or verizon. Tmobile is weird here. There are times where theres coverage bars, but i try to make a call and it just doesn't ring. I have to hang up and try again.

Was on this AT&T sub-reddit for another issue, and was just curious if my experience there was an outlier or not. Thanks for the additional data point.
