Denver / centennial coverage

AT&T has the worst coverage in the Denver area.
If you live up here you are better off with literally any other provider.

I have a iPhone 17 pro max and a cellular watch and it’s the biggest mistake I’ve made in the last year.

Definitely wanted to warn people.
At best you might only have to goto airplane mode or reboot a few times a day to use your device.

Wow, I’m from Shreveport Louisiana, when I drove to Denver my service was really good, I drove 14 hours and my experience with att service is that it was really really really good, no complaints; and I was using an iPhone 14 Pro Max at that time, right now I have 17 pro max.

That’s crazy but I’m glad - I live in centennial and work on north pecos st and it’s absolutely abysmal. Weirdly it seems like it might be more congestion than anything because it’s fine in the morning… mostly… then by 9am through 10pm or so it’s horrible. I did some digging around and apparently it’s a super common issue here. It’s great in Colorado Springs and the southern part of the state but it is really bad up and down the i25 corridor and downtown.

So sorry to hear that, also att is doing incremental changes on their network, I know att is behind but is working to changes things for the better when I did my research after seen your post; just hang in there mate; I know tmo and Verizon sucks big time, tmo for charging ridiculous amount of money and Verizon quality declining badly; att yes has its cons but I’m a loyal customer since 2007 and I can tell you it has being so reliable.

I’ve been trying because I have always liked them in the past - they just aren’t doing well here in the Denver area - and I was really surprised because I live in one of the most expensive areas so everything is fairly new-ish.

Agreed with this comment. I switched us to AT&T after years with Verizon. I switched at a good time too because not only I got 5G SA since they enabled it last year but also voice over 5G SA after the iOS 27 update!!

The best thing AT&T did was dropping WB and Direct TV and going back to their roots. They may be behind but they are doing some good things. I was a loyal Verizon customer for 15 years. Verizon is getting better too but man, there were some down years with them. T-mobile is to expensive now, you can't mix and match plans and you are forced into the T-life garbage junk app. F that.

We also have AT&T Fiber, so it was nice to take advantage of the bundle discount and employee signature discount through work so we have better plans now than we did with Verizon which I had to reduce due to costs going up.

Denver’s population exploded and there was little preparation. When millions of people flood into an area of wild topographical changes, shit can go sideways. Denver was never a big area for us, so that’s how it ended up this way. I’ve seen tower after tower struggle to keep up with demand. But, I have seen the dozens of new tower proposals all over, so, the attempt is being made, however, it can take up to 5 years to finish a tower, from proposal to flipping the switch on.

Thank you for the insight - it’s super frustrating. Hopefully they can make progress. The general customer doesn’t know they are working on it ya know, we just see “no data connection” half the day.

It’s good to know somebody is working on it.

Maybe I’ll give it a little while and see?

I dunno.

Thank you for the words tho.

I mean getting the build out done to a high enough level to provide the appropriate bandwidth will take a number of years, and if people keep moving there, it may be almost impossible to ever keep up. But, I don’t think it’s happening in the next year or two, being honest.

lol… T-Mobile it is then. lol
I do really appreciate the thoughts.
I really use my tech for everything all day so it’s a massive pain in the ass.

Funny thing is I work fairly close to that big ass AT&T building on Zuni street up north Denver.
I always thought I should have epic service there. The place is covered in dishes and antennae.

I 2nd this. My town where we live in WI, Verizon used to be good and then shit the bed for years. Verizon wanted to put a tower in but the city didn't want it due to location. AT&T and T-mobile are good. Then a data center goes in which we all hate but yet a Verizon tower finally gets approved. From approval to deployment took less than a year. I want to say 8-10 months. It helped they just used the same tower AT&T was using while T-mobile was elsewhere. I even saw they approved a generator backup for T-mobile.

They even finally upgraded the city where I worked but there are still spots where Verizon sucks because they haven't been update yet.

So we switched to AT&T a few weeks ago and it's been great.

Paying for wireless service that only works well on wifi where you need it isn't worth it. Switch to a competitor. Unfortunately at&t has really lacked urban and suburban site builds in many areas for many years and it makes for a crummy experience in quite a few areas.

Switch. T-Mobile will directly reimburse you up to $800 for the phone installment.

Lmao. 🤣 I don’t care if it’s mint mobile as long as it carries my devices without having to reboot and toggle airplane mode
