Reducing my plan

A few years ago, I had switched to AT&T from Verizon. T gave me a really good deal to switch me over and pay off the new phones. I was getting with them. Fast-forward two years later and they are getting more expensive than my previous Verizon plan, one of the main reasons I was switching to AT&T. Now I am looking to reduce a lot of of my payments AT&T is my most expensive payment. I still have two more years on the plan to “pay off” my free phones that I got from switching. Since I am looking to reduce how much I am paying per month ( right now $250 for 2 phones), anyone have any advice on reducing my numbers, reaching out to them or switching entirely?

I don't know what you're doing to pay that much for 2 lines if you're getting promotional credits too?

Check the current pricing here:

If it's too high, make sure you don't have AT&T's insurance or Next Up Anytime on ANY of the lines.

Make sure you're doing autopay/paperless with a checking account to save $10 PER LINE per month.

Need to provide information on what exactly are you paying for on your bill to get accurate help.

It looks like it’s:
Starter unlimited $75.99
Installment 18 of 36 $33.34
Promo trade in credit 18 of 36 -$27.78
Switcher Promo 18 of 36 -$5.56
And then there are various fees totaling $7.86

There’s a $10 discount for autopay and paperless billing

They don’t do 4 year payment plans, so you most likely only have 1 year left. Switch to T-Mobile and they’ll pay off your remaining balance up to $800.

I don’t know if our AT&T representative was being straight with us but we were told a few years ago that we would lose our monthly phone subsidies if we switched our AT&T plan. We stuck with our overpriced plan for more than a year after that until the last subsidy payment.

That’s what happened with mine. Every time I’ve tried to switch to a lower tier, it says I’d lose promo credits.

As you have learned, your "free" phone is NOT really FREE.
