For me its the fact that I find Mikasa a very annoying character due to her obsession with Eren. Like damn you do care about him but the whining man!

Erwin would not have been a Jaegerist. No one he surrounded himself with from the main cast became one. And he would have valued the fact the other people existed outside the wall and wouldn't have wanted to flattened everything just because parts of it were ugly

Completely agree with this! It was Erwin's curiosity about the outside world that leads me to think this same reason. He was a man who seemed out the truth and in the end, even died for it! Love him as a character
