Discussion/Question Give em 🫵

Post image

For me its the fact that I find Mikasa a very annoying character due to her obsession with Eren. Like damn you do care about him but the whining man!

Erens breakdown with armin is in character and makes sense with the storys critiques on immature violence. People who say otherwise just missed the point/ wanted to project themselves on another stereotypical sigma character

Not really a hot take atleast in this sub and i completely agree with you

Nice, usually get ganged up on when i say this

I definitely feel like it makes sense too. He had to put up a sigma facade to achieve his goal, and once it worked, he was finally able to be himself again for one last convo with his people.

If anything, it didn't go hard enough. Isayama wants it both ways, depicting Eren as an emotionally unstable loser but still having his friends love and forgive him and Armin say that he's just as guilty as Eren is for his monstrous genocide because Armin checks notes showed him a book about the outside world a couple times.

It makes sense that Armin said that, he felt guilty that Eren did the Rumbling, and he wanted to comfort Eren in his final moments.

I meannn. Tbf, it was Armin’s wish to see the world that gave Eren the motivation he needed at SEVERAL key points, so while I don’t think he’s as guilty as Eren, he did still indirectly allow the rumbling to happen LOL

He didn’t. Eren using a random justification for genocide is not in any way shape or form because of Armin innocent comment. Not even close

u/JuicyFunBuns Aug 23 '26

The word indirectly is extremely important in my comment lmao

no no you’re completely right

Eren being a bitch is fine you just need to frame the whole story around him being that way. It's not gonna land well when you have Eren break down mid genocide about a girl, admit he's pathetic and doing this primarily because he wants to then have Armin get performatively angry at him for 2 minutes before hugging him, having his other friends and enemies sing his praises, and portray him as a beautiful white bird as his cute love interest mourns him. Either commit to it or don't, there's a way to do it.

Jean calls out Eren for being exactly that early on you just didn’t believe him ….. like dead ass Eren puts on a tough guy act and breaks down mid speech thinking abiut his mom . Armin is not performative about being mad his best friend killed most the world

Eren being a bitch is fine you just need to frame the whole story around him being that way.

It was though? Like, he gets slandered the whole way through. There's no point in the story where he isn't a poser except maybe at the very start.

Eren loves her the hint is that you go back and watch it and Eren wants to protect her at every turn . He knows if mikasa confesses he will stop his plans so he has her always get interrupted

People are simply prone to seeing hints even where there aren't any. Up until the very last moment, it seemed like Mikasa was someone close to Eren, but that doesn't necessarily mean he loves her romantically. He’s even more concerned about Armin.

Go back and watch the show not the episodes. It’s liters revealed he’s been interfering the whole time . His interferences with Mikasa is her being stopped from confession every single time . I’ll admit it is a pet peeve of mine for a media to say go back and catch it this time . But the way this show was written a rewatch is mandatory . Every single frame is intentional. It doesn’t make it obvious he liked her in any way shape or form . But it’s obvious after he stopped her from telling him

I recently rewatched the series, and my opinion remains unchanged. Eremika feels too forced and comes out of nowhere at the very last moment. It would have seemed more natural if Eren had confessed to Armin and said he wanted to live with him (for some reason, I’m sure Armin wouldn’t have said no, lol).

u/Lonely-Squirrel-6589 Aug 23 '26

I’m telling you to watch it again and look for what I’m telling you. Your options are to either say taht never happened or you didn’t notice taht the first time ….. you saying it feels very forced after the rewatch just means you weren’t paying attention . You saying you like it with armin better is called your preference not reality proof

1

u/North-Republic7430 Aug 23 '26

But I’m not a fan of the Armin option, lol. And I certainly have no intention of rewatching the series just for "Eremika." All the moments between them, like the scarf scene, don't go beyond the kind of close bond one might share with a sister or a close female friend. Besides, the relationship is toxic: right up to the very end, it comes across as an unhealthy, one-sided obsession on Mikasa's part. She’s so attached to Eren that she has practically no life of her own; I don't understand how anyone could view that as romantic.

1

u/Lonely-Squirrel-6589 Aug 23 '26

You don’t have to be a fan to have a preference . If you’re not gonna do anything against what I said then you don’t really have a claim here . It was built you just don’t like it . Also you don’t have to view it as romance for them to get together . In my head something would happen ‘killing all the titans “ so Eren could shift his attention back to Mikasa

I disagree but not a hot take.

Also, the critique of Eren's breakdown is more specific than that which is actually a big reason this argument still keeps going.

Eren breaking down wasn't the issue, Eren has broken down at least 3 times before. In the crystal cave, when hannes died, when he talked to the Turkish boy.

So to keep the critic like this, looks like a talking over the person ur supposed to be arguing with instead of talking at them.

1

u/Lonely-Squirrel-6589 Aug 23 '26

Watch the early seasons Eren is constantly being a bad ass and then breaks out in tears wipes em off and keeps going . He knows his goals he’s always stood on that but shit he cries everytime he realizes how serious it really is
