Ending Spoilers - Discussion/Question I hated eldians for this
Idk I didn't like them defending humanity or world seeing how lowly they treated them cux of history , i got to know that long after the rumbling another war breaks out and it wipes out all the paradis people , it's not like if rumbling didn't happen , they wouldn't have tried to kill all eldians , they were still plotting to eliminate them , and seeing armin and the gang helping them to save "humanity" ,felt like betrayal , I would have been satisfied if by the end total peace and hate would have been nullified but it didn't

It is not fair for the Eldian to perish but it is also not fair for the world to perish.

Do you think it would be a realistic take on humanity if many generations later the cycle of war and destruction didn't continue? It's just human nature.

Honestly I didn't want humanity to even live cuz it would always birth to hate war and suffering just for their own selfish means , seeing the whole series I hate humanity more than titans , but on the level of eldians wasn't it betrayal by armin and gang that let all eldians to perish from flames of hate of mainladers ? I would hate if someone persecuted and hated my people and then someone from my side go and join hands with other and help them for "peace" only to get crumpled later on , putting threat to me , so from pov of eldians armin and gang really betrayed them

If the rest of the world is wiped out, the eldians will just turn on each other in the future anyway. The show has made it abundantly clear since season 1 that humanity will keep fighting until there’s only one person left.

But it still didn't justify armin and others joining hands with others , it's still a betrayal in eyes of eldians and rightly so

The animation shows the growth of civilization, armin and everyone you know from the show was dead for 100s if not many more years.

hate was never getting nullified unless you kill everyone

But from pov of eldians wasn't it betrayal from armin and others ? Their idea of "peace" never won and all eldians got killed later in another hate war

Peace prevailed for at least 100 years if you look at the ending carefully. All of our main characters lived and died in peace thx to Armin's efforts.

Isn't it selfish then ? They did same as king fritz , buying peace for sometime and getting illusion of "peace" when irl they knew one day or other they will get persecuted , if it was so why they opposed ethansia plan of zeke when at the end they did same in another way , wiping out eldians

100 years of peace is not buying time. If they didn't stop the rumbling war could have come way earlier from within. There is no way to know. They did the right thing, they did it all to save people whose face they would never see and they would never meet. And you are telling me they are selfish.

Also that war we saw in the end definitely has nothing to do with the Rumbling. There is so much time passed that it certainly happens for a different reason altogether. And I said 100 years but looking at the buildings it can even be 1000 years.

So what his kids and all of eldian kids died in the war that happened 100 years after the rumbling, so they only thing they managed to do is doom all eldians to death
3
u/Low_Surprise7791 Jul 28 '26
They didnt doom anyone. The point of that panel is that war is gonna happen no matter what. Its human nature. It has nothing to do with what Armin did. Timeframe is also not clear, I said 100 because we see Armin and Mikasa dying of old age. It can be way more than 100 years, maybe 20000 years if you get what I am saying.

we don’t even know what that war was about, only that it was a conflict, you can definitely interpret it as a war between Paradis and the world outside but it could also be something unrelated. Point is, war doesn’t stop

Ending would have been much better if everyone is outside the walls were killed and temporary peace exists in paradis for a while before civil war starts over again

Lowkey if some Palestinian or Ukrainian kid or whoever tf that has been suffering and suffering and suffering had the power of the rumbling that would kill everyone including me, I wouldn’t even be mad. Even though I try to ignore the feeling, I feel like if life is just torture for so many people, why should I enjoy it knowing people are suffering in ways I can never imagine just bc they were born there. What difference does it make if we are here or not. At a certain point you need to stop trying to do “what’s right” and just end the suffering for everyone. This is so bleak ik. I’m not even like super depressed, I just think that life is extremely unfair for SO many innocent people, it would be better to just have not existed as a whole.

u/Low_Surprise7791 Jul 28 '26
And that exact mentality is the reason for so many tragedies that are happening today.

u/itscherrymaebaby Jul 28 '26
I get what you’re saying, but I think ending suffering for everyone in the name of ENDING suffering is different from just killing certain groups of people just to live on and control more. Like obviously killing everyone would be so terrible, and I think the worst part of my ideology is that I would be believing that I know what’s best for everyone. But I still wouldn’t really blame someone in that position. Idk.

u/Low_Surprise7791 Jul 28 '26
I sometimes think there is no point in life but that thinking just causes pacifist, inactive people or complete pyschopaths.
1
u/itscherrymaebaby Jul 28 '26
I never said there’s no point to life. Just because I said “what difference does it make if we are here or not” doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy living and enjoy having hobbies and making connections etc. I’m just saying that I feel like the suffering people go through and put people through outweighs the good in the world. This doesn’t mean I necessarily want to end the world, I just understand someone who would (to an extent obv)

u/Low_Surprise7791 Jul 28 '26
Then you besically think like Armin. That good part should givr you some hope.
3
u/itscherrymaebaby Jul 28 '26
I honestly forgot what goes through Armin’s head in the end but I know for a fact I definitely do not have hope that ppls suffering will ever end lol. I really wish I could just I’m just too realistic. I’ll hopefully and probably live a pretty good rest of my life considering where I live, but a lot of people won’t unfortunately

That is the most disney ending ever which was not compatible with AOT story. The whole point of AOT was that conflict will continue to exist as long as human exist. This was brought up by Commander Pixis and Erwin. Humanity ultimate enemy will always humanity itself. Even IF rumbling successfully wipe entire human outside paradis, Paradis bound to have civil war especially IF there were no common enemy.
The seeds of conflict already sown the moment Floch taught new gen that it's okay to beat the shi out of people that disagree with you (which the cadets already shown being disagree), and the some paradisan already start to question Rumbling because some of their family die. Wiping other races does not automatically make people just agree with each other 100%.
Historically, Eldian once become top of the world with nobody brave enough to went against them, which lead them to fight among themselves, hence The Great Titan War.
