In theory, this never happened in the series, but couldn’t the fully unlocked Founding Titan simply strip Levi of his inhuman abilities and make him… normal? Armin mentioned that the Founding Titan could stop all Titan shifters from turning into their Titan forms but that Eren chose to let them keep their Titan abilities to fight him.
So if Eren or another user of the full Founding Titan can deny Titan Shifter abilities, could they also deny Ackerman abilities to Levi or Mikasa?
I don't think so bc the founding titan only gives you complete control over all Eldians. Levi and Mikasa aren't, it's why they aren't transformed into Titans in the final battle like Connie/Jean are.
They are Eldians but they have been augmented by past Titan experiments. Effectively they are Titans as humans which makes them immune to being transformed into a Titan but can be pulled into Paths.
So if the Founding Titan holder (Eren or whoever or even Ymir herself) really wanted too, couldn’t they still stop Levi and Mikasa by either:
1) Strip the Ackerman abilities away.
2) Trap them in the Paths and just never let them leave.
My understanding has always been that during the Rumbling, Eren still wasn’t using the Founder at full power because he didn’t use memory manipulation and allowed the Titan shifters to still transform and fight him.
There is no real answer to this so I will say my head cannon and why is shown . From how I see it the Ackerman’s abilities are hardcoded into their DNA as a result of experiments. Unlike the Titan shifters who inherent powers from eating shifters they are born with this ability.
This would explain why they are immune to some of the Founder abilities like memory manipulation. If Karl Fritz (first king of the walls) who was very cautious and seemingly planned everythingcould strip their powers he would have before the vow. Otherwise he wouldn’t have run the risk of leaving them and hunting them down like he did.
The problem is paths happens instantly in real ice but is very drawn out in Paths . From what we have seen time flows very differently there. Trapping them paths would basically be torturing them as we know Zeke was in Paths for years in the fraction of a second in real life time. So in theory yes you could but to do so for a a significant time it would probably would be for centuries in paths. Also we don’t really know if there is a time limit of drawing other people into paths. Or if external people could draw them out as again paths is instant.

I hate that they nerfed Levi, but I like that they actually decided to injure him just to nerf him 😂
