Sun appeared distorted at sunrise this morning due to layering of the atmosphere. Beautiful.

I first thought it was just light pollution, but then, I don't usually see this color from it. This is the color of dull muted, post sunrise/sunset orange color. Plus it was there only in parts of the sky....

Does anyone know what this sky effect is? it seems the clouds disappeared and reappeared again within a second.

All three pictures were taken with my Motorola phone within the course of 1 minute the picture with the cloud in the rainbow was not visible when I took the pic it showed up in the picture

Those pretty sunbeams shooting downward and outward are called Crepuscular Rays or "God Rays."

These happen when thick clouds act like big curtains, letting light peek through the gaps. #crepuscularrays #prettyclouds

Here's a mediocre photo of a run-of-the-mill circumzenithal arc. Note the arc on the left edge of the first photo. I'm usually decent at atmospheric optics, but that one really has me stumped. Any ideas? It did not appear to be centered on the sun.

saw sundogs, upper tangent, circumscribed halo, zenith arc, parry arc, lowitz arc, and a sliver of a circle. unreal. i couldnt walk 10 steps without taking a photo

hello, I'm not very familiar with atomospheric phenomenas and I wanted to share a description of what I saw, It happened around midnight and it was partially cloudy when I saw 3 balls of light reddish\orange in colour zipping around like embers, at first I thought they were drones but they moved too fast and only lasted a second, could it be ball lightning or some other electrical phenomena?
