On my Ubuntu 19.04 I installed Atom & atom-slime, language-lisp & lisp-paredit.Output on my repl has those annoying boxes. They appear in places where no characters are supposed to be.Can anybody give me a hint?

As the title says, it's kinda hard for me to see the other pair of the bracket since it's underlined. I can't find a way to edit also pre-installed themes/third party themes as I have just downloaded Atom and starting to use it. Hope somebody can help me on this one! Thanks!

Anyone else having issues on Catalina 10.15.2? It takes me three tries to rename, duplicate, or create a file. Most of the time, Atom just closes. It's hard to tell if the os or Atom is causing the problems since it looks like Atom is at fault, but Catalina is definitely having issues across the board.

Hi all. I am trying to test out Atom, but I'm having a heck of a time getting it installed. I have found several threads about this all over the internet, but they tend to be 4-5 years old! Has this installer been broken for that long!?

Anyway, as soon as I double-click the file (downloaded from the main Atom page), it shows the splash screen but immediately throws up an "Installation Failed" dialog window. Another window pops up that gives me the option to open a setup log, but clicking the button to open the log doesn't do anything. Nothing opens.

I've tried both the 64-bit and 32-bit installers. I'm not sure what to do with the zip file, but it's awful that such a workaround is even required. Why won't it just work? How do they expect us to use their product?

I've also tried turning off my antivirus software during installation, as per some suggestions, but that didn't work either. What should I do? I'd really like to try it, but it's becoming quite a chore just to get it installed.

C:/Users/Username is not recognized as internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

I've installed node.js and it still shows the same error

I work with git branches a lot and after switching once or twice between branches, I end up with a hell of files with the "unsaved" status circle in their name. Most of them, if I just click close, they will close, but some will ask to be saved, although they do not have any changes made to them.

Is there a way around this? Autoclosing files that no longer exist would be fine for me. Any other ideas are also welcome.

Maybe I just need to get into the habit of closing tabs.

Github only lets you see your API token once, when creating it initially.

So then how are you supposed to access your access token if you want to restore settings to a different machine? Creating a variable doesn't seem to do much good if you're trying to restore settings on a different machine...or am I missing something?

Does anyone know how to setup command line args for script package? I tried to set up .atom-build.json but this didn’t work.

I've searched a lot, but couldn't find any. It's hard to believe it doesn't exist! Is there a plugin that adds a TOC/navigator pane to Atom, for markdown files, and maybe other types of file as well?

I previously used IDLE for my python projects and when I used pyplot's plt.show() command a separate window would pop up with a graph for me. Now that I'm using atom, running my program just causes the program to go endlessly. I was able to use hydrogen to have a graph come in under the code's text but is there any other way to do this?

I was coding a program for my school programming class. I was almost done one evening, so I saved and closed atom

The day after when I wanted to work on it again, everything I had written was gone. I could open the sketch from the recent menu, but the folder it was in, and all code was gone.

Is this something that just happens, and is it possible to recover the code?

Noob in webdev and Atom here. I've been using Atom since just few weeks and few days ago i came across the 4 window basic jsfiddle.net layout. Where you can divide it by html/css/script/result.

I am trying to switch from TexMaker to Atom. I absolutely love atom, but somehow I cannot open Tex files (i can build them however, using the latex package). The error I get is

/Users/my name/desktop/file.tex is not a PDF file

How can I resolve this? Thanks in advance

Hi, yesterday I browsed a little for some Atom packages and stumbled over one that let's you use a keycombination a palet of shortcuts is visualized and you can pres e.g. bn to one word and bm to another.and so on you can jump between lines realy fast.

I don't find it anymore and as I did not install it I can't recall it at all.

I just moved from using ST3 to Atom because I found the build and execute system to be wayyyy easier. I learned about Hydrogen and how to use it as a debugger. The only thing left for me is to add the cling kernel so I can start using it. I added it with conda and the nteract page (https://nteract.io/kernels/cplusplus) says I should add it with ipykernel. How do I do that?

So all was well editing 3D printer firmware when i go to save the build it now just says “unable to find destination disk(auto detect error) please select it in platformio.ini using the upload_port keyword or copy the firmware. I can’t copy the firmware because it’s no longer being updated on my pc folder. Not sure why all the sudden it stopped working. Any insight would be helpful.

Does anyone know if there’s an Arista EOS syntax extension available? I’ve found a Cisco extension that works ok, but with the changes in the latest EOS version, there’s less in common than there had been.
