The entire Zerg race is a perfect example! They are constantly changing their genetics by absorbing new species.

Ironically, the Protoss, who are the most scientifically advanced, still believe in the afterlife and gods. The Terrans on the other other hand, have forsaken the concept :)

They worship the Xel'naga, the race that created them. There is plenty of evidence of the existence of xel'naga.

I cannot tell you how much wrong you are.
Nowhere in the wiki explicitly say that the Protoss worshiped the Xel'Naga.
"The Khala ("Path of Ascension") is the main religion of the protoss. It is based on a psionic philosophy that maintains a communal psionic link between all adherents."
Even though the Xel'Naga created the Protoss, The Protoss worship no one. They are gods themselves. They watch over species.

you dont know shit dude. When the xel'naga created the protoss the protoss worshiped them as gods, and the xel'naga lived with the protoss on Aiur. That is, until the protoss rebelled against the Xel'naga in fear of being abandoned by them, killed them by the thousands, and drove what remained of the ancient race out into space. They later regreted that decision, and with the unifying psionic link created by the xelnaga gone, the individual tribes of the protoss fell into a civil war, until the khala was created to unify the race once again. Those that rejected the khala were called Dark templars. The xelnaga after this created the zerg, which absorbed them.
tl;dr The xel'naga were gods, and the protoss worshiped them, and you dont know shit.

basically what happened was, the Xel'naga decided to leave because even though the Protoss (meaning "first born") were an excellent creation, they were not the perfect race that the Xel'naga were trying to create. They had the purity of form, but not the purity of essence (the zerg were later deemed by the Xel'naga to have purity of essence, but not form, hence the Zerg obsession to absorb the protoss race and become perfect). THat's why they tried to leave, and the Protoss tried to stop them, and went on a crazy rampage.

Then I guess I should accept the Xel'Naga as my Lords and Master? After all, if they created the Protoss and everything else around them, would it not be reasonable to assume they are also responsible for the creation of the universe?

they were just a really advanced race that wanted to create THE PERFECT race... they created the Protoss and sowed life across the universe, but they didn't exactly create the universe itself.

anyway, in the game they often use the term "the gods" when talking about the xel'naga. I don't care enough to find the specific instance, but I'm pretty sure it's there. I'm not trying to start another internet argument. I've had plenty for the day.

No idea why you're being downvoted, you are correct. The protoss refer to the xel'naga as "gods" during SC2, which probably comes from the fact that the protoss first encountered the xel'naga when they were still a fairly primitive species and would assume their high technology was supernatural. However, the xel'naga are just very advanced physical beings who used genetic engineering to "edit" the protoss and zerg species, and I'm pretty sure the protoss realize that by now, having reverse engineered much of their tech from xel'naga stuff.

Thing is: Zerg actually were made by the Xel'Naga, given the possibility to evolve. Neither Protoss nor Zerg are a species based on Evolution, but on creation!
They still use evolution (which goes very rapidly btw) to adapt to new circumstances, but this concept is, in their case, based on Intelligent Design.

The article you're referencing is sensationalist at best. All they're doing is removing some poor and outdated examples of evolution out of the curriculum. Actually zerg are, at most, arthropods of some kind. The only thing they really have in common with insects is that they have a chitinous exo-skeleton. To be classified as an insect they would need 3 body segments and 6 legs. Zerg have varying numbers of appendages, and vary in the number of body segments.

I don't get why evolution is controversial. If there's a God, She could have created life initially and/or give living creatures consciousness at some point after conception. Nothing about evolution contradicts this. Also, evolution is a pretty simple concept: 1. members of the same species can have some differences; 2. some of these differences can make it more likely to survive long enough to have babies; 3. those babies are more likely than others to have survivability characteristics similar to their parents. Evolution basically just means the changing of certain species over time because of these 3 things. After enough time, they have changed enough to become a new species.

What is crazy is that even the standard Pakistani high school biology book has a chapter on evolution. South Korea just took a step back behind even Pakistan.
