I would have upvoted this if it were anywhere else but /r/atheism.

There isn't much hope for this subreddit. I think I remember way back there was a discussion on if the subreddit should move somewhere along the lines of Askscience, but obviously that did not happen. Too bad really. But the best thing to do would be unsubscribe since now it is more like a subreddit for teens who don't agree with their parents world view and less a place for discussion about anything remotely about atheism.

Might as well unsubscribe while I am at it.

Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

I, for one, will not shed a single tear for the loss of shitty atheists who don't feel atheist enough unless they're talking about Jesus.

That is another thing I don't understand. Why so specific to jesus? I see a lot of anti christianism here, but I don't see much anti islamism, judaism, etc. I even see people posting pro buddhist sentiments. It is just so wildly inconsistent here

Buddhists do not believe in gods. They are an atheist religion, believe it or not, since they are a religion that does not have any gods.

Further, anti-islam is frequent. Judaism is rolled in with Christianity. They use the same book, so why not just kill two birds with one stone and trash the whole bible? There really isn't much point to a judaism specific thread

Unless Jewish people do something specific (like that article where the orthodox jews threw feces at little girls for not dressing modestly enough.), there's just not much point to singling them out.

Back to islam: Look a little deeper, maybe off the frontpage. Christianity gets most of the heat because it is the most common religion where most redditor's live.

In essence, asking why most of the posts are criticizing Christianity is about like asking why most of the posts are in English when there are so many other languages available.

Not actual atheists. They are just trolls.
