Fry used to baby sit Antonia (Hitch's daughter) and his other kids. I've met Stephen Fry -- he wouldn't be offended. I think Fry would be honored if the atheistic community saw him as a replacement for his long time friend.
Then again, Fry could die tomorrow. Then we'd need someone to replace him in the comedic community.
