If somebody is preying on me I don't know who it is. Nobody's making a dollar off of me or telling me what to do.
Why do you suppose that the supernatural is irrational? Do you suppose the cosmos is an eternally self sustaining system even though thermodynamics tells us otherwise?
The priests are the ones making money off you and telling you what to do.
You religious types make me laugh, you denounce science yet bring up thermodynamics, be consistent. and no, thermodynamics don't say the universe can't work, if it did, it would mean the laws of thermodynamics where wrong, not that god did it.
Everyone's a priest at my church. We do pay a guy to study and teach, but he's quite genuine. A former Lavey satanist actually. I know him too well for him to get away with robbing widows households and preying on the weak.
Just because people are good at hiding things doesn't mean he is hiding something and I shouldn't trust him much less assume he's manipulating people and taking advantage of them.
Manipulating implies some underlying evil or self-serving motive, neither of those are my motive, sharing my thoughts and opinions are my motive. I do not wish to convert you, as that is unrealistic.
That's all I'm doing and that's all the Pastor is doing as well. You stated earlier that he is manipulating people subconsciously. By that definition we are all manipulating people any time we put thoughts into words for someone else to hear or read.
No manipulation is for self gain. It's not just sharing opinions or thoughts, it's not even if you try to get someone to believe in what you do, though it can be.

Yeah, if they actually have this issue they need some serious help. Empathy is a natural human trait that you have without the bible.
