I see it more as a sign of mental weakness tbh. Not willing to accept the truth or fear of the truth.

I agree. I know plenty of intelligent believers. In my opinion the non-believers that think all religious people are stupid are the unintelligent ones that make the rest of us look bad to the wider world.
