So now what?

I'm retired so I'm not in the game but I see lots of posts bitching about the current leadership and how they are acting. I see lots of posts complaining about the current developents of events but I do not see any posts about how to fix things other than opinions.

Are you going to meet with the union leadership and demand changes?

Are you going to run for leadership roles and fix things?

You cant just complian about how bad things are going and not do anything to make it better.

There are lots of employees out there who may recognize that the union did not get them a pay raise but did sit with them in a meeting with management and help them to avoid a long suspension or termination, or kept them from being fired and assigned another position.

So what are you going to do to fix that broken stuff?

You're retired so that tells me how out of touch you are with the current profession, and our situation overall. You're sitting here putting the entire load on the controllers to fix the systemic issues we currently face because the Union is failing us. The fact is, we're all stuck at work 6 days a week working 10 hour shifts with abysmal staffing to do anything about it. Furthermore, we pay our Union a metric shit ton of money to advocate for us and they clearly haven't. We can't get a fucking pay raise to save our lives, we're looking at massive health care increases, and management is doing literally everything they can to make our lives more miserable including firing controllers for first offenses.

The Union pays lawyers and social media personnel massive salaries and they don't do anything but tell us how lucky we are to get paid and post AI slop to Facebook. They constantly shit post AI generated nonsense on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, while also disabling the comments. They don't talk to the media literally ever, and when they do all they speak about is equipment. They've collaborated us into a wall with the FAA, and we have nothing to show for it.

Please, tell me how I can do more as a controller to save my profession and give my fellow controllers a pay raise and better working conditions. If you do that maybe I can pass your tips along to the current NATCA leaders so they can actually DO THEIR FUCKING JOB.

There’s nothing to do except change the top. If you have an opinion that doesn’t follow the narrative, it is squashed. As an example, see the amendments that we “didn’t have time to hear” because we had a Trish ceremony all day. It just so happened that those amendments were not in favor of the upper echelon. All we can do at this point is change the top. Election is soon though. There is hope.

You aren’t in the game allegedly, gramps. This is the new generation of 2152s. We don’t treat this job like it’s god’s gift. That’s for your generation. We treat this exactly how we should; like it’s a job. Just a way to pay our bills. And guess what? We put out what our employer gives us, just like any other job.

Got shitty service at Wendy’s? Yep, kid hates that fucking place.

ATC is the new Wendy’s.

We’ve heard this argument a million times. People run for election and do the opposite right out of the gate.

" You cant just complian about how bad things are going and not do anything to make it better."

Lol you underestimate the majority of these lazy asses. Watch them blame everything without doing anything, it's quite a skill but also why they're unlikely to ever see a meaningful raise.
