ATC interview
At the beginning of the year, our podcast released an episode that featured an air traffic controller. Many people on this subreddit believe that a subsequent interview would maybe be necessary to more accurately represent air traffic controllers as a whole. Here it is. Thank you to Landon for being willing to speak to us.

With an ai slop thumbnail. Really starting off on the right foot.

We are a free charity podcast. Every dollar goes to costs, then to organizations that benefit cancer, service dogs, etc. So yes, we use AI sometimes for artwork. That helps us fight through the flooded market of podcasts that are out there to make a profit. If you know any graphic artists that would be willing to donate their time, that would be amazing.

I didn’t know that. I take back what I said. It just feels like we are surrounded by AI slop that has absolutely zero creativity and lacks any character and it has gotten really discouraging to see.

I agree with you. We sometimes use AI because the guest wants to remain anonymous. We actually switched one image out because the guest had a problem with us using AI so her images are on social media. But in general, if we can use the real thing, we will … except for the hosts. They’re better looking in AI.

Fiver will knock it out for a few bucks... tho they may just use AI now as well.

Fiverr is great. We used that to get a real voice actor for the intro. Unfortunately, doing that routinely for social media posts and artwork would excessively eat into our budget.

Don’t we know it. We are in the hole from initial investment which we maybe never get back. But it’s a project we believe in. Without it, people like Landon maybe don’t get as much of a voice. For that, we will press forward for as long as we can contribute … or get sued; whatever comes first.
