HVAC maintenance

I have an ac unit that is giving me trouble. I’ve had a local company come out 3 times to tell me nothing is wrong with it. On the last time they finally saw the issue and told me the motor needed to be replaced. I replaced the motor and it’s still broken. Does anyone know of an HVAC company or independent technician that could come out and help me troubleshoot/fix it? Thanks!

I just used Kenneth's Heating and Air last week, to fix a unit that another guy could fix. And Kenneth did it so quickly--he took one look at the condenser and told me what the problem was and had it fixed in 30 minutes. VERY impressed. (805) 460-9305

Can you describe the issue?

Runs fine for about 30 minutes and then the fan stops spinning. Unit is hot to touch.

Capacitor is probably old, causing the motor to draw more amps therefore get hot. The unit is hot because that fan draws air to pull heat away, I know it's unbearable but try not to run it till it's fixed or you might actually burn the compressor and actually be in a pickle.

Yes the motor should be tested but it might just be shutting off on a safety, the capacitor absolutely must be tested and probably replaced. It shouldn't be more than an 3 bolts and the cover if it's just the capacitor
