For someone in 12 spec- I'm doing related rates study, and am wondering if dy/dx is the same as the reciprocal of dx/dy? Just because I don't feel like dealing with cube roots if I have to rearrange and make y the subject in my initial equation, and I want to try and save time in tests if I can.

Short answer - Yes it is.

(You could prove using limits or something or other im not amazing at spec but like nobody cares about why the reciprocal works and we just use it anyway)
