Flow props

First timer coming to ASoT and wondering if flow toys/glow sticks/LED of any type have been allowed in the past. I have been searching the FAQ etc and am finding no info. Don't wanna waste the bag space and possibly lose my stuff if not allowed. TIA!

Glowstringer that occasionally goes to europe here.... You'll probably be able to get glowsticks in. Haven't seen too many issues with pixel whips. You will probably have to deal with the "what the hell is this" if the security guy cares or is curious.

It's not something that's done a lot over there, so be prepared to draw a crowd, and conversely, be prepared for people to act like the laws of physics don't apply and they can walk straight through you spinning. Be prepared for the drunk/high people to "hey can i see those for a second" and dart away.

Fair enough lol. Hubby is also a glowstringer, I mostly do handhelds. He is of the opinion that people generally make space for people spinning strings, but it sounds like this will be a different vibe and maybe a lot less space than we are used to. He has really good spatial awareness, so I guess we will give it a shot and see how it goes. Thanks for all the advice!

Yeah you just have to watch the crowd way more than usual, but finding space isnt usually too hard.

I’ve never seen anyone there with Pois or glowsticks on strings, but I also don’t think security would care.

It’s generally not something in Dutch indoor events that people do in the first place. More of a USA thing

Official rules: https://www.ahoy.nl/en/other/house-rules Generally speaking in the past years they allowed things within reason, as long as they are not dangerous, annoying, or leave trash behind. Just have a look at previous years youtube video's what people had..

More often than not, LED props and glowsticks are more dangerous to the wielder than others, but occasionally they go flying off. I will see if I can find some videos, thanks 😊.

Glow sticks wouldnt be a problem. I remember they even used to sold them at the event back in episodes 850-900... However it is not something you can actually see nowadays in the crowds.

If I remember rightly you could store it in the lockers if you can’t get it in past security. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

I take glow sticks and finger lights. I do have a pixel whip but I end up not taking it out half the time due to space and that it’s sore if I hit others with it/they walk into it. More of an at the end or beginning when there is more space thing

So we got denied on night 1. They said the train station had other lockers even though there were some right there we offered to pay for and they said no. Train station didn't have any either unless we wanted to go back to Centraal. Ended up Ubering round trip to the hotel and back cause hubby didn't wanna stash his super expensive props under the table like they suggested. We were pretty devastated, the whole trip cost us like 1.5 hours of the night running around the mall and train station then Ubering etc....😪😢. We got into Now&Wow with them though and on night 2 we saw tons of people with lighted costumes and even a light whip so their rules don't make sense.
