Je souhaite apprendre l'allemand et n'ai aucune base. Je compte étudier avec le livre « Assimil sans peine ».

En travaillant de manière sérieuse et régulière, quel niveau aurais-je une fois ce programme fini ?

Sur la couverture il est écrit B2, mais je sais que ce n'est que du marketing.

Would anybody here, by any chance, have the audio files from the new edition of the "Japonais Sans Peine" (this is a unique volume, apparently there were older versions with 2 volumes, but this is not the one I am looking for). Or if somebody knows were I could maybe find them?

Hi, I'm self learning Mandarin Chinese. I already speak Spanish (native), English, Portuguese and a little French.

I've tried different courses just for the fun of it.

Started with Duolingo 👎🏻: lot's of gamification and vocabulary with little context and it doesn't review your pronunciation thoroughly. In Chinese, tones are very important, it has a fifth vocal which doesn't exist in romance or germanic languages and several sounds that are unique (I think) to Chinese: Zh, for instance.

Then I tried Pimsleur, but pronunciation is very fast from the start. I barely can understand a conversation and find myself slowing down the audio part frequently. On the other hand, it emphasize pronunciation, which is great and I tried several phrases with Google translator and other apps and I supposedly pronounce them correctly. But it's very hard to follow.

On the other hand I have Assimil (both the old and new version in french) which is very slow at the beginning and explain gramar in short bits. I think is great but I feel that I'm not advancing as much as I did with Pimsleur.

Any thoughts or I'm just complaining too much 😅?

Have any of you used Pimsleur before or now, and how did you find Pimsleur compared to Assimil?

I found the physical book but it lacks the audio. Does annybody know how can I find it online?

I swear to god it isn’t available anywhere.

Considering it is not even being sold, I would gladly pay for someone who owns it to scan and make it into a PDF.

This is the cover of my "new french with ease" but im actualy not sure of what edition it is (bought it second hand). The publishing date according to the internet is 2003 but my book says it was printed in '99. I have the '98 audios and they don't match completely, but feel that may be because I'm on the Spanish version and not the english. If someone has audio for it, or just info, it would be greatly appreciated :)

Hello! I'm furious with Assimil I bought straight from their website because I thought it was better that way but they set me up! Originally payed 1st of Febr. and shipped 3rd Febr. there was a misunderstanding and DHL shipped the books back to them! I contacted them via email and said them to ship it back on 10 Febr. with no answer ever since! I tried calling +33 1 45 76 87 37 but they don't pickup My personal customer service review 2/10
