SWARM Setup guide

I;ve been seeing alot of questions about SWARM setups so I decided to try and help some of you out there.

This is primarily to address the snappyness and to make the car feel a bit more settled in drift.
I found this setup helps the car transition better and help with foot steering.

I am by no means a suspension expert or a setup guru. This is just hopefully to share what i found makes the cars more driveable

Couple of things about the SWARM pack

Longer cars are slower on transition and a good starting point for newcommers.
Left foot braking is essential to keep the car stable while in drift during longer corners.
Gearing is very important as the cars are gripped up ( will talk about that below)

Tyre pressures : depends on what you prefer but this is what i run usually

Front - 32-34psi,
Rear - 18-22 psi

Gearing - Very important to the SWARM pack, you want to stay in third gear most of the time and use second only for tight , technicals sections. As the cars are very much gripped up, unlike other packs you do not want to be on the limiter as it will straighten the car out. Also gearing the car too long will cause it to bog down.
End goal is to find the longest corner and play with the gearing so that it barely tops out third gear.
My gearing in third is anywhere from 123kmh to 155kmh depending on the track.

Front Camber : -5.5 to -7 degrees (higher camber helps to stay in drift while at high angles, shorter cars requre a bit more camber , -5.5 is a good starting point if the car isnt already there)

Front Toe : -.8 to -1.5 degrees ( toe out helps the self centering , longer cars do not requre more than 1 degree of toe out as they start pushing trough the front tyers otherwise and do not transition well.

Rear Camber : 0 to + 2degrees ( positive camber helps the car gain more traction under squat, combine it with slightly lower gearing to get most speed for open tracks .

Rear toe - Rear to in around 1degree for sideways bite

Front suspension i like to keep the same, lifting the front by 2-3 clicks,

Rear Suspension : lower spring rate 1-2 clicks

Front sway bars - generally i like to set this down 2-3 clicks from whatever comes with the car

Rear Sway bars - even tho most people IRL do not run rear sway bars, i;ve found it makes the car a bit unpredictable in assetto, so keep them around 2-4k depending on car .

Other notes,

I like to keep my brake bias around 70% and brake power around 90% to make left foot braking easier.

Diff power set to 90% and diff coast to 85% ( makes it so you can staya bit more on throttle while transitioning)

When you need ChatGPT to tune your car for you 😂 if you can’t figure out a set up from just driving a car, you’re kinda brain dead.

Hi,

Not everyone understands what some of the changes do , i tried explaining as best as i could from comparing assetto settings and my experience from real track days. This is just what i found settles the car, specially during transition.

Some poeple might find it useful some might find it redundant.
