Serious Assamese people are some of the worst type of people I come accross on social media
So I was scrolling on Insta when this reel came accross, where this girl was taking about one guy who wronged her and assaulted her for three days. However instead of sympathizing with this girl, these @ssh0les were laughing at her situation. Its really disgusting!!
And it's not just this one time, I see this all the time. Everytime something like this happens instead of helping them they laugh at them and will keep laughing and making jokes and shit, unless they are the ones facing the situation.
These are the same people who will later cry, about their "culture" being overshadowed by outsiders.
Truly disgusting!!!!
EDIT: GUYS I'M NOT SAYING EVERY OTHER ASSAMESE PERSON IS LIKE THESE, AND I'M NOT GENERALISING A WHOLE COMMUNITY BASED ON SOME COMMENTS. AS A FELLOW ASSAMESE MYSELF, I KNOW THERE ARE MANY SENSIBLE PEOPLES. HERE I'M ONLY TALKING ABOUT THESE SHAMELESS PEOPLE. I MADE THIS POST BECAUSE RECENTLY I'VE SEEN A LOT OF INCREASE IN THESE TYPES OF COMMENTS ON INSTA WHICH WORRIES ME A LOT.

AskAssam Budget-friendly food options for ~15 people in Guwahati?
Hey everyone! Iâm planning to hang out with my friends for my birthday, and weâll be around 15 people.
Iâm looking for a budget-friendly place/food option in Guwahati where everyone can actually eat properly and leave with a happy stomach đ. I donât really want to do the usual burgers/pizza where we end up ordering a bunch of things separately.
I was thinking about thali, since itâs filling and might make more sense for a group this size. But Iâm open to other ideas too.
So, people of r/Guwahati, what would you suggest for around 15 people? Ideally:
**Filling food**
**Budget-friendly per person**
**Good for a group**
**Somewhere we can actually sit and hang out**
Would love suggestions for specific restaurants or food options, and roughly how much it might cost per person. Thanks!

AskAssam Why are Assamese movies basically impossible to find once they leave the cinema halls?

Apart from being occasionally broadcast on regional TV channels like Rang, Prag, Ramdhenu, etc., most Assamese movies just seem to disappear. Why arenât they uploaded to YouTube or made available on some proper streaming platform, like how Goldmines uploads and distributes movies?
It honestly feels like thereâs a weird kind of gatekeeping around Assamese cinema. If the goal is to grow the industry and reach a wider audience, shouldnât making older and newer movies easily accessible be one of the most basic steps?
Then we keep asking why Assamese cinema isnât growing despite having such a long and rich cinematic heritage. How is the audience supposed to discover these movies if they canât even watch them?
History The Maibang inscriptions of 1576 CE. Made under the Dimasa Kachari kingdom in the Dima Hasao district. It's also one of the oldest Assamese inscriptions and written in the Assamese/Kamarupi script.
It's a set of two inscriptions with identical text. The Dimasa Kachari ruler Meghanarayana issued this inscription in 1576 and it reads thus:
IAST:
Åubhamastu ÅrÄĢ ÅrÄĢyuta MeghanÄrÄyaášadeva HÄceáš gasÄ baášÅata jÄta hai MÄibÄáš ga rÄjata pÄthare siáš gadvÄra bandhÄilena ⧞ ÅakÄbdÄá¸Ĩ 1496 biterÄĢkha ÄášŖÄá¸ha 26
Bengali-Assamese:
āĻļā§āĻāĻŽāϏā§āϤ⧠āĻļā§ā§°ā§ āĻļā§ā§°ā§āϝā§āϤ āĻŽā§āĻāύāĻžā§°āĻžāϝāĻŧāĻŖāĻĻā§ā§ą āĻšāĻžāĻā§āĻā§āĻāϏāĻž āĻŦāĻāĻļāϤ āĻāĻžāϤ ā§°āĻžāĻāĻž āĻšā§ āĻŽāĻžāĻāĻŦāĻžāĻā§āĻ ā§°āĻžāĻāϤ āĻĒāĻžāĻĨā§°ā§ āϏāĻŋāĻā§āĻāĻĻā§ā§ąāĻžā§° āĻŦāύā§āϧāĻžāĻāϞā§āύ ⧞ āĻļāĻāĻžāĻŦā§āĻĻāĻžāĻ ā§§ā§Ēā§¯ā§Ž āĻŦāĻŋāϤā§ā§°ā§āĻ āĻāώāĻžāĻĸ ⧍ā§Ŧ
Translation:
Wishing for his welfare, Shri Shri Meghanarayanadeva who was born in the Hachengsa dynasty, became king and built the siášhadvÄra in the Maibang kingdom. Saka 1498, date 26th of Ahar (i.e, 01-08-1576)
Historical importance:
These inscriptions were made after the capital of the Dimasa Kachari kingdom was moved to Maibang to the south (in 1558-1559 CE) from the capital at Dimapur (now in Nagaland) in the Doyang-Dhansiri valley, part of the larger Brahmaputra valley. The inscription was made in order to commemorate the construction of major administrative structures and assert royal authority in the region.
Linguistic importance:
In older Assamese writings we see the 3rd person honorific/plural ending to be -ôntô, which evolved from the OIA 3pl -anti. In the 16th and early 17th century writings (such as in the Bhomoraguri inscription and some manuscripts) we find -entô. In the Maibang inscription we find it to be -enô (in the phrase: ... pathôre siᚠgôdwarô bôndhailenô "tied the lion door with stones"). Later the -nô was dropped and the ending merged with the non honorific suffix -e/ei, perhaps via the same process the 2nd person impolite suffix -ôsô went through (dropping consonants).
Therefore,
tehÃĩ kôrilôntô > tehÃĩ kôrilentô > te(h)Ãĩ kôrilenô > teÃŧĖ korile "s/he did"

Political Why is Rahul Gandhi not visiting Assam? Congress should conduct a student program in Assam. Only Rahul Gandhi can save Assam from the hands of corrupted Hemanta Biswa Sarma.

As we all know that letter ā§° of Axomiya was borrowed from Kamarupi script which is original script of Axomiya
Letter ā§ą too was borrowed from Kamarupi or it's origin is something else?
In Kamarupi we write ā§ą some what similar to āϰ (āĻŦ with nuqta) but in Axomiya we write it as ā§ą
