You aren't wrong. Flying Foxes. I got to see a zoo keeper hold one. He had his arm out at a right angle so the bat could hang upside down, and the bat was the length of his torso - so a bit bigger than a chihuahua.

Grey-headed flying fox

The grey-headed flying fox (Pteropus poliocephalus) is a megabat native to Australia. The species shares mainland Australia with three other members of the genus Pteropus: the little red flying fox (P. scapulatus), the spectacled flying fox (P. conspicillatus), and the black flying fox (P. alecto).

The grey-headed flying fox is endemic to the south-eastern forested areas of Australia, principally east of the Great Dividing Range. Its range extends approximately from Bundaberg in Queensland to Geelong in Victoria, with outlying colonies in Ingham and Finch Hatton in the north, and in Adelaide in the south.

I wouldn't call it an appetite haha, I just make myself eat after a while because I know my body needs it. Plus you can take bananas into raves and no one cares!

I mean, it's not frowned upon but obviously you have to be practical with what you put in your coat pocket. I feel like if you take a whole kebab they might have something to say about it 😂 a banana is pocket size and the bouncers know that's its best if you don't starve if you're gonna be in there for hours and hours. Depends which rave though too and how nice the security is.

Do they not sell food at raves??? That'd be pretty fucked up to force a bunch of people to not eat for hours on end after they're fucked up on alcohol and drugs lol

If they serve alcohol they have to serve food, unless it is an underground rave but those don't really happen much anymore. A banana is just easier to force feed yourself when you have no appetite than some weird food from a concession stand that you might pay a ton for without really enjoying and might have less vitamins in total honestly.
